They didn't mention any of the base's fine in-town amenities like liquor stores, pawn shops, tattoo parlors and strip clubs, to say nothing of the car lots that'll sell you a 25% APR Challenger with no questions asked and no credit check required.

Was stationed there in 67/68 as my terminal duty. Seemed to me that the base was being used as a dumping ground for short timers with bad attitude. What a depressing place. Made 29 Palms look like heaven on earth. I drank the water. It was delicious. 77 years old now and fortunately no side effects yet.
