    Creo que las versiones de 2009 y 2021 no tienen excusas, perdió bien. Ahora, lo que logró Soderling en 2009 fue histórico, además le pegaba a todo. Hasta hoy en día me impresiona ese partido. Es una pena que Djokovic no pudo con Federer en 2011. Era su oportunidad para bajar a Nadal en su pico. Como dijo Thiem: "Ganar a Rafa en Roland Garros es el reto máximo del tenis".

    • @DavidRDH473
      @DavidRDH473 2 месяца назад

      After the 2009 loss to Soderling, Rafa beat him at Roland Garros in straight sets in 2010 and 2011 without any problems. After losing in 2009 he didn't show up at Wimbledon to defend his title because he didn't feel in good enough physical condition. Both things make you think that in 2009 Rafa was not at 100% physically, he was at a physical performance to try to compete, but not in full condition. The same in 2021. In 2020 he beat Djokovic in straight sets, in 2021 after their match he had surgery on his foot and was out for the rest of the season. In 2022 he beat him in four sets with that same foot asleep to avoid pain. Maybe it´s possible that Djokovic would have beaten him in 2021 if Rafa had also had his foot asleep, but I think it is clear that that year Rafa was not in full physical condition (not in 2022 either, but he found the solution of putting his foot to sleep). The only year he was beaten at Roland Garros in full physical condition was in 2015, when Djokovic took advantage of Rafa's worst year of tennis.

Against Djokovic in 2021 he made a ton of backhand unforced errors and his foot was visibly hurt in 2021, whereas in 2022 he was able to play a very high level even in the 4th set. As for Soderling, as the other commenter pointed out, the rest of Nadal’s season was marred by injuries. He beat Soderling 6-1 6-0 in Rome 2 weeks prior and beat him badly in 2010 and 2011
