Great tones .. I have a SAS-1
Thanks, I really wished I had kept it. Those Seth lover pickups sounded really sweet.
I have one FG230 from 1969. It hadn't been played in years. I bought it used. I had it restrung I returned it it plays magnificently it has a beautiful sound to it.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Those FG 230's are one of the best sounding 12 strings ever made imho. It gives every brand a major run for the money !
Nice 🎉
@@DanielAnando-m3u thanks
does it have neck dive?
I don't have the bass anymore but I seen to remember that it was balanced enough. Might be better to hit someone up who has one but I think there's one at a shop near my place, if I remember I'll check it out.
@@paulsjvgearoutletchannel8671 oh please do, is my current dream bass
@@paulsjvgearoutletchannel8671 purchased the bigger brother from japan, I hope you are right!
You make the guitar sound very pleasant
Thank you
sounds stellar for an inexpensive copy. How was it to set up?
Hello 👋 Do you remember the amp you use ? Thank you 🙏
Hi, most likely a blues junior and an old teisco tube amp or a Roland cube 30. I probably used 2 amps in stereo.
@@paulsjvgearoutletchannel8671 thank you !!
@@theguitarlibrary_kdp no worries. For the video I used a zoom H2 in front of the 2 amps and straight into my camera. I don't really have time to edit the sound either. I'll upload my pedal board one day. But reverb would be a boss rv-5 and drives are a RAT and maxon OD808, sometimes stacked.
4:50 what songs does this lick sound like? Something from led zeppelin? Please tell me i got this piece stuck in my head and dont know where i did hear this haha
Hi, I'm not really sure, I had a listen and it just sounds like I'm mucking around mostly.
Great sound demo , seems like quite a versatile guitar. I am thinking of getting one of these for myself in all black. I'd be interested to know roughly what the neck profile and radius is.
@@7_eleven790 thanks. If say the neck profile is a medium C shape and radius was more towards vintage type necks 9" maybe. I sold the guitar a while ago but most guitars from that era seem to follow more or less strat specs and have similar necks. Sorry I can't give you the exact specs
@@paulsjvgearoutletchannel8671 Thank you very much. I have just bought my one, hoping the neck is not too fat, was a pretty good deal considering its a made in japan guitar from the 80s.
Great, yeah the necks on most MIJ guitars are not too fat. I find pretty much every guitar I've checked out seem to have a pretty comfortable neck.
After watching your amazing performance, I bought the same guitar. I was fascinated by the delicate tone. From Japan...ZERO
beautiful tone.
Have you changed the pickups in this Wildcat?
Na, I'm pretty sure they're stock.
this is now my bass! it plays like a dream!
@@billionaize247 awesome, glad it's giving you plenty of joy.
hi, do you recommend this over fender st 57 japan?
these things were rediculously quality, they were better than most stuff bar pre cbs fenders, so they;d be better than most fender japan products.. plus wicked late 70's early 80s vintage
Sounds really great! I found one for dirt cheap and is concidering to buy it. I got a soft spot for these obscure japanese brands. How do you like it, does it stack up to more modern say, Indonesian or Chinese jazzbasses? Is the electronics OK or are the tone and volyme knobs more like on or of switches?
アリアプロIIのPEにフロイドローズが付いているんなら欲しいけど。
沢田泰司
good sounds.
Love the channel and your shop. Great demos for these Japanese jems. You from WNY?! GO BILLS!
Thanks for checking the guitars out and the comment. I'm from Auckland NZ originally but been in Japan since 2001
Nice sound & playing!!
Thank you
made in ?
Made in Japan around 1980
I have a natural sc1000 and they are very good guitars very under appreciated ,some day they should become collectable on just how good they sound and play,I would say of all Japanese guitar makers Yamaha builds the best in terms of quality construction, and some of these guitars from late 70s to late 80s are worth collecting.
In Japan they're definitely becoming collectable recently.
I have the red one of this model. Its metalic candy red.
I'd love one in that colour, I have an old Japanese Squire contemporary series with that finish, it's a nice guitar.
That guitar has a BEAUTIFUL sound! So warm and expensive, yet clear enough to hear on each pickup. This is my dream strat tone!
Thanks Jeremy, yeah it's a nice axe and been well looked after over all these years as well. I really like the old fernandes, my main player is a fernandes revival series strat.
Great vid. I have a red ‘83 Sb-1000. I got it in ‘86 in Japan.
Thanks. That would be a nice axe.
It's great seeing you feature MIJ guitars and basses. I'm a big fan and own a few. Love your playing too.
Thanks so much, I'd like to do more if I had time and try and get into the history as well. Hopefully in the future.
Isso e arte
obrigado
Me lembra meu primo guitarrista brabo 😊
Greatplaying♪ i have the same Guitar.
Thanks, I sold that one but I think I'll have to get me another.
Thanks 🙏 and here a subscribe from me ❤️
I just ordered a Yamaha SL500 from Japan, you helping to sell them you know!
Great, yeah I know, I hope people can get a good idea of how great these old Yamaha's are. That one in the video I sold already a few years back I think. Enjoy the new guitar
Sounds great! What’s the neck like on these? Thick? And shape? Are these based on any certain fender model? Great playing and sound demo🤘🏼 cheers!
Beast
it looks like Korean.. the sound sucks.. sad..😢
Yeah Korean, did it really sound that bad? What guitar are you playing at the moment?
Man, don’t even waste your energy responding to chumps who just want to criticize … it’s like giving air to a dumpster fire. That Aria sounds so versatile ! What kind of pups are in there?
Fair enough Bobby, I got much better ways to waste my energy anyways, Funny I never got a response though. I don't have the guitar anymore, sold it a few years ago I think. I think the pups were stock anyways, could have been gotoh but not really sure. I'm working on a lot of guitars every year, that one sounded good from my memory. I think the difference between that one and the Japanese made ones might be small and a lot comes down to a good set up and fingers and so on and so on. I'm never gonna get into a deep guitar tone conversation. It's a deep hole of no return. Just make music with the tone that comes out.
Well said; “ the heart wants what it wants “.
Love the bridge - hate the nut, thankfully we have locking tuners today. I have used a Kahler locking nut with string guide in the past, but they can be tricky with bullet style truss rods.
how do you compare with fender american standard?
Such a versatile guitar.
Solid top wood?
It's a solid top with a very thin laminate on the top and bottom for stability and crack prevention, like the older Yamaha's.
What size of the guitar? Om or 000?
To my ears the tone is wonderfull🙌
Just bought an rt240 and waw what a guitar.beautifull and plays well.japanese quality are very high.👍👍👍⚘⚘
What benefits have you experienced with the CFS? Does it help with pitch accuracy in the higher frets or with harmonics?
Hi, yeah it definitely plays more in tune all the way up the neck and up high as well. It's a small difference that would be hard to tell for most people I think. The FGN guitars are well made and just play great and feel really nice in the hand.
@@paulsjvgearoutletchannel8671 Thanks for your insight! FGN instruments are pretty rare here in the US, so I probably won't find one to play before buying online. Very untested in their Les Paul or bass.
Yeah, FGN have such a long, rich guitar making history with Greco, fender Japan, I handed etc... So many and they seem very committed to making great instruments. I suppose CFS is a small innovation that they feel will improve the players experience and ability to make great music. This one's actually for sale.
I just bought one .mint.here next to me on the train.cant wait to make a video demo.
Was there much of a difference in playability/Tones between this and the RT150 you posted a demo of??
Hard to remember but I think they're we're both similar and both great to play. Would have been nice to do a direct comparison but unfortunately both have gone.
@paulsjvgearoutletchannel8671 I just scored a '93 RT150 and I'm pretty surprised at how much I want to play it. I can't put it down. Kinda sucks that it's literally impossible to find pickguards for them. I did put a Gotoh Trem and locking tuners on it which was quite an improvement. Do you have a Reverb store?
I have owned my RT 250 for about 8 years now, and its my favorite guitar to play. So versatile, such a great tone. They should have never discontinued them.
@@markredsicker9392regular RG guards don’t fit at all? Or just one or more screws not aligned?
Beautiful tone and beautiful playing.
Thank you
Are you selling on Reverb?
Yeah, selling on reverb.
Great demonstration! What scale length is this? Wondering if the "s" stands for short or medium scale.
The "s" is for sunburst. In addition to these colors, the catalogs of the time show "N" for natural finish and "W" for white. It does not seem to mean short scale.
hell of a bass
