SABESAJE, CRIZZALYN P. CBET-25 -102E Lesson 8 in Gregg Shorthand, I learned that some of the "brief forms" use the same symbol for different words, like "is" and "his," which both use a comma "s" symbol. It's like a code where the same symbol can mean different things. I also learned that we can use the brief forms to make writing faster and easier. We can combine them with other words, like "for" and "give," to make the word "forgive," all in one shorthand outline. And we can put the brief forms at the beginning, middle, or even the end of a word, which makes it even faster to write.

Rodriguez, Kurt Miel F. Cbet-25-103p I was able to learn these things in this lesson; -s, f, and v are downward rught curves differentiated by length - shorthand gives speed by means of blending symbols as shown in the “fr” and “blends”. and; -o symbol represents both soft and short sounds regardless of its spelling in long hand.

Rodriguez, Kurt Miel F. Cbet-25-103p I was able to learn in this lesson about the nine brief forms and their corresponding symbols that makes writing shorthand symbols much more easier making process more quick and efficient. Another thing is that it reduces the risk of hand fatigue by reducing the effort needed in writing. I was also able to learn the differences of the short and soft sounds of “a” and “e” and also the importance of learning and implementing shorthand for students.

Mendoza, Riyanne Cassandra G. CBET-25-102E My take aways for lesson 4 are about the functions of brief forms that are written in a single stroke that represent a word for a faster writing techniques. Example are; the stroke of T representing the word of IT and AT. The stroke of D representing the word of would. These are the basic part that creates a faster reading and writing shorthand.

Mendoza, Riyanne Cassandra G. CBET-25-102E I've learned about the shorthand of O, R and L which represents forward under curves differentiated by length or size. The O represent a tiny hook , the R as a short curve, while the L as tge longer forward curve. Lesson 2 also contain the minor vowels omitted such as vowels if they are not contribute to speed or readability.

Mendoza, Riyanne Cassandra G. CBET-25-102E In lesson 2 I've learn the shorthand symbols of 'h' and 'ing' which they have the same symbol and the long 'i' representing a dot. Using stenobook makes my writing organized and neat for practicing the stroke of each symbols, and also to avoid confusion.

Bares, Fatima S CBET-25-102E There are common used words that are abbreviated called "brief forms," like would, I, and etc. There are nine brief forms that are written with single shorthand and that can help us write faster, and also that are words most often used in our language that written in shortcuts. Brief-forms derivatives are used for longer words by adding a common prefix or suffix, such as -ing. I also learned about the short and soft sounds of "A" and "E".

CBET-25-103P After viewing this lesson I learned that when you hear a word, the way it sounds is important because it influences how you write it, and getting it wrong can lead to misunderstandings. In shorthand, sounds like "a," "e," "m," "n," "t," and "d" each have their own symbols, but they’re distinguished by their size and structure. Some punctuation marks look different too, and a few are circled. Just like in regular writing, capitalization is key, especially for proper nouns and names. The more comfortable you get with writing what you hear, the easier it is to pick up shorthand.

CBET-25-103P This lesson broadened my knowledge of writing the sounds h, ing, and I. It's funny to realize that even though the symbols looked like tiny marks, they actually carried meaning. It also simplifies the process of quickly writing down spoken words. The lecture also touched on the significance of steno notebooks and explained why the pages are divided in half with lines.

CBET-25-103P In lesson four, I learned about brief forms and how they can be made plural or past tense, allowing these short forms to represent longer nouns. The video explained that each of the nine brief forms introduced is written with just one shorthand symbol. For example, "it" and "at" are represented by the T stroke, while "would" is shown by the D stroke. It's important to take notes during the professor's explanations to prevent any confusion.

CBET-25-103P What I took away from the lesson is that we can form phrases by linking multiple short forms into a single outline. I also learned that while the letters "s," "f," and "v" share similar symbols, their lengths are different. For instance, the "s" symbol has a slight downward curve, the "f" has a medium curve, and the "v" has a larger, more pronounced downward curve.

CRIZZALYN P. SABESAJE CBET-25-102E Lesson 7 in Gregg Shorthand was really helpful! We learned a new way to write "s" that makes it easier to connect with other letters. We also learned special symbols for "p" and "b", and they're different sizes! The "p" symbol is a shorter curve than the "b" symbol, so it's easy to remember. The new symbol for the "oo" sound is great because it works for both short and soft sounds. I'm excited to practice these new things so I can write faster and better!

CRIZZALYN P. SABESAJE CBET-25-102E Lesson 6 in Gregg Shorthand was about writing words that start with "in". We learned special symbols for the sounds "oo", "k", and "g", and at first it was hard to remember them, but I got better with practice. The size and shape of the symbols are really important. I also liked learning how to write "w", "sw", and "wh" sounds at the beginning of words, and how to curve words to make them easier to write. The part about words that sound the same but have different meanings, like "to", "too", and "two", was a little confusing. It's important to be careful with those! I learned a lot about writing shorthand, and I'm excited to keep learning more.

Llagas, Sofhia Corrine A. CBET - 25 - 102E On lesson 5, I now realize how shorthand builds up into speed and efficiency. Shorthand uses special phrases for such sounds as "f", "s", and "v". The "f" sound has a medium-sized downward curve, the "s" sound a short curve called "comma s", and the "v" sound a long descending curve. It recognizes such differences and in the process helps to establish faster and smoother shorthand, which is, of course, important to acquire proficiency in the system.

Llagas, Sofhia Corrine A. CBET - 25 - 102E The symbol system of shorthand utilized for representing spoken language with different systems and their individual rules is discussed in lesson 4. Here, brief forms refer to common words with their shortened spellings in shorthand. It was fascinating to find that brief forms, though indicated by one symbol can be employed with longer words for making plurals, past tenses, and even to add the "ING" suffixes. So, this proved effective for shorthand itself. Practice becomes the student's foundation for achieving speed and accuracy.

Valladores, Honelyn CBET-25-103P In this lesson, I learned the symbols for the sounds of S, F, and V in shorthand. The "S" symbol is a short downward curve, while the "F" symbol is a medium downward curve, and the "V" symbol is a long downward curve. I found it interesting that "S" is smaller than "F," which is double the size, and "V" takes the full stroke length. I also discovered shorthand blends for FR and FL and explored the short and soft sounds of O. An important note is that in shorthand, the "S" symbol is used for both S and Z sounds, which is different from longhand. Final thoughts, it was a valuable lesson!👏

Which represents the long sound of "E" as an "LEE" and also represents the sound of "E" as in LET and the soft sound of "E" as in her. Cabiles, Angela L. CBEA - 25 -101E I learned that combining brief forms into phrases can significantly reduce the time I spend writing, which is crucial for improving my speed in shorthand. Differentiating between symbols like s, f, and v by size and direction will help me avoid confusion during transcription, ensuring greater accuracy in my writing. Adapting shorthand to common word pairings through blends like f+r and f+l demonstrates how I can streamline my writing process. Representing short and soft sounds of "o" consistently will simplify the learning process and make it easier for me to memorize the symbols. Seeing real-world examples helps me visualize how shorthand applies in my everyday writing, reinforcing the relevance of this lesson. Using fewer pen lifts through blends and phrases can lessen my cognitive load, allowing me to focus more on the content rather than the mechanics of writing. I understand that mastering shorthand is a gradual process, and each lesson builds on my previous knowledge, emphasizing the importance of continuous practice and review.
