midnight improv
Busy times call for desperate content... Special thanks to Sophie for her most generous donation. I hope to use the funds to make better music, however the issue right now is not a lack of money, but of time. It will get better after a certain point, just not yet...

S. Rachmaninoff: Prelude in D-Major (Op. 23 No. 4)
Просмотров 2703 месяца назад
Have been playing this one on and off for a long time, but never managed to get the last twenty-ish percent in. Now I had to get it up before I leave this piano for an extended period of time, though I would have liked to get a little bit more practice in. Rachmaninoff used to be one of my favourite composers, if not the favourite, and this peace simultaneously breathes dark brutality and tende...

Absolutely stunning and beautiful
@@corinaavelar5752 Thank you, Corina! 🙂
Thank you for 1k views!
Beautiful, Josip. Perfect as I go off to rest
That you left in your humored frustration at the noisy interference was fun and interesting 😄 gave me another reason to smile.
@@aspiringphilothea Yeah, no point in doing a gazillion takes...
Beautiful, brother!
@@aspiringphilothea Thanks!
🎉Woow.. Awesome
@@calebmbugua745 Thank you, I appreciate it!
Nice job.
Thanks!
Beautiful! I love Spanish music!
:0 very interesting! its my favourite song recently, playing it on loop
Thank you for the support! :)
Thank you for this, Josip! It is very fascinating and informative. I will say though, that there is a glitch I think with this video where you aren't dual screening with your production screen from 26:25 or so and onward till towards the end. Your explanations are still very informative but we don't hear or see what you are trying to demonstrate in removing the annoying sounds by removing frequencies, or when you are explaining how you fixed the issues with the limitations of your microphone and recording space. We start hearing what you are playing on the screen again after you shared the piece from the other composer which inspired you around time 40:24. Still a lot of great information though. I learned a lot! I would like to know more about how to set up the whisper track - I have trouble when I am trying to harmonize with myself in Bandlab and I think that would help my vocal to stay more focused and on track.
Thank you! Yeah, at some point OBS decided to stop recording my screen so I had only the camera rolling... looked hard but didn't find the other footage. I figured I'd keep it in anyway, but I understand the frustration. For good mixing tips I recommend Recording Revolution, Joe Gilder, or other similar channels. They have everything covered. I didn't do any special moves, it's ordinary things like a high-pass filter (gets rid of all low frequency junk) and then finding frequencies I disliked and turning them down. Also, thanks for actually watching the whole thing, I'm surprised anyone actually did that LOL.
About the whisper track, the quickest way would be to hook up your MIDI keyboard to some sound generator/ synth inside the DAW and recording your playing while playback is on. You want to make sure you don't have any latency, though, which you can do by using the ASIO driver.
Beautiful 👌
The melody is from a song by Kottke called Watermelon...
this is so good
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
What song is this?
Last Steam Engine Train (Kottke version).
@@gregoritsch4363 thanks!
Very beautiful and wonderful talent. I felt like I was going on a journey :)
Thank you! 😁
Cool! Do you ever use BandLab to make music creations? a friend introduced me to it late last year; it has lots of features and options
Sorry, I just saw the comment. I don't think I've ever used BandLab, I prefer going straight into a DAW or do simple mock-ups like this. But I've seen what they've done with BandLab recently and I'm sure it has many cool features, so I'm open to trying it sometime...
It sounds terrific!
This is awesome! I am listening to some of these in the background while I work and it is very motivating and enjoyable
You really seem to be binging these, lol! Thank you, I am glad you like it!
