West Virginia-based electronic tinkerer Chase Monty (aka RAN) is interested in exploring the way sound has shaped their life. Sampling is the vital technique which has allowed them to wield the sonic ephemera of their past; to examine, deconstruct, and shape it into something new and wholly theirs. The samples used in Skeleton Way pull from the media of RAN's childhood, sourcing audio from Goosebumps, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Twilight, as well as sounds occupying RAN's more recent cultural interests, like the films of Neil Breen and Nicolas Cage, as well as the music of Phillip Glass.
