My dad drove trucks when I was young, a Ford. It had one of these engines in it, and the sound now reminds me of a time of comfort and no worries. It's nice.

It’s definitely one of the most diesely diesels. The 12v Cummins is pretty good too imo.

Super nostalgic for me! I remember riding with my father in his F550 and hearing that sweet sound! I was SO MAD when he sold it, that I got my own diesel truck, except it is a Duramax LB7. My father replaced it with a 2018 Silverado 1500 5.3. I affectionately refer to that truck as a “slicker’s truck!” The seats are hard, and it has a turn radius wider than that F550! I hate that truck! I want that F550 back!
I hear ya. They are hard to bet and don’t die. The 7.3 is maybe the most diesely diesel ever made. 👍🏼
@@CountryBoySounds definitely right up there with the 6BT Cummins! My father tuned that 7.3 later on, and it would accelerate up steep hills in overdrive! It was incredible!
@@bcdieselsofficialAgreed, I'd put the 5.9 cummins at the top, closely followed by the 7.3. I'd prefer to forget the 6.0 ever existed though
@@crewdawg2008 agreed! I would like to get a 6.0 Powerstroke Ford and a 5.9 Cummins Dodge and swap the engines around.
@@bcdieselsofficial Lots of people have done 5.9 swaps into Fords where they pulled the 6.0 out and, presumably, scrapped the 6.0. I've seen a number of videos on RUclips about just that. It's definitely a good upgrade.
