@ 4:12 in this video, Frank O' Reilly says something very thought provoking..."since time immemorial, SOLDIERS HATE FIGHTING AT NIGHT AND IN WOODS". (And now I'm going to say / suggest something ANATHEMA to those Civil War historians who place too much romance to their hobby); The idea that MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE those very same Confederate soldiers, in the knowledge of what Jackson was gearing up for ( A NIGHT, and WOODED fight...) TOOK HIM OUT intentionally. Fratercide. Yes. I'm suggesting it, I WENT THERE. Sorry, but I choose not to be a guy who "whistles past the graveyard", so to speak. IT VERY WELL MAY HAVE HAPPENED that way. Additionally, perhaps Jacksons' Provincial convictions were being employed here--yes--but he was also PERHAPS tempting such a fate a wee bit TOO much. Just sayin'.

Just like Midway, or the breakout from Stalingrad by the 6th Army... Jackson made the BEST decision with the information he had at the time from his perspective being on the field in such an exposed situation and therefore we cannot use hindsight to rehash what happened.

Jackson’s image is being tarnished by those who seek to destroy it without taking the time to study who this man truly was. Raised an orphan, poorly educated but persistent enough to self educate to earn a spot at West Point. When from the bottom of his class to just above the middle and breveted for bravery in the Mexican-American War. At VMI he was known as a peculiar, and often poor professor, but in Lexington he was a devout man of God. Illegally he taught slaves in a Sunday school that lasted close to fifty years after his death. He called on a national day of prayer to avoid civil war, but was reluctantly brought into the conflict with his native state. Me mesmerized the nation and the world with his feats at Manassas and in the Shenandoah Valley until becoming one of Lee’s top lieutenants. Courageous and devout to the end, Jackson, and his legend, live on to those that bother to study who he truly was and is to history.

Me and my Dad just visited the Stonewall Jackson Death Site about two weeks ago. There we were greeted by Mr. Frank O’Reilly and he gave us a huge welcome back and A great overview and presentation of Jackson’s last days on Earth following the shooting and pneumonia sickness up until his death. We were very happy to have this experience once more with all the crazy things that has been happening as of late with statues being taken down and all the monuments being tampered with and desecrated. Thank you so much Mr. O’Reilly for your great work and time to present this to us that day. I encourage everyone who has a special interest in this to please stop by and visit. We also went into the small gift shop they have there and picked up a few souvenirs to take Home. Great Video and thank you so much for posting this it really makes me happy. This experience was Absolutely Great 👍 RIP STONEWALL JACKSON!!!!!!!
