As always Dan Linstedt asks us to think and read between the lines when applying DV methodology, to strictly follow the DV definitions from one side, and in the meantime to interpret them in the context of the business requirements, the technical infrastructure, etc., how correctly to map all these to other architectures, terms, methodologies, approaches, technical solutions. You guys have not pote in a while. Is Data Vault even relevant anymore? O ris it just now a money grab?
Data Vault is more relevant than ever. We've only got 2 people in our company, and 2 contractors helping us. We are not a large firm. And I've been busy with building up a new course of CDVP2.1 (brand new certification), well over 1400 slides of materials, new workshop, incorporating Data Lakes, Data Lakehouses, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and Data Virtualization. Not to mention unstructured data, JSON data, audio, image, documentation and video (ie: what to do with this data, and how to integrate it into the data warehouse). We have a ton more recordings coming, and we are launching a brand new community shortly. So please bear with us. It is never a money grab, has never been a money grab. If it were - then we wouldn't have all the free resources available at user groups, and on our website. I'm surprised to hear you ask that question, but there is the answer. Hope this helps, Dan
Can you please help me with these . Would be great if you can explain with some examples. 1. Why link to link relationship is not recommended in RDV? 2. In BDV bridge table, if we are storing only hash keys( not natural keys), then how in fact/dimension we are going to get natural keys?
