That’s bullshit! You do not leave as fully trained Royal Marines Commsndos, you leave with a basic level and you become better when you get to your unit!
Inspection parade by the king at sandhest military academy 2023
The 3rd you didnt know the name of is the troop commander.
The guy you didnt know the name of is the Drill Instructor I think.
What song at 59:51 ?
What is the music they play during the salute
Would be great to see a documentary one day on the selection and training given to the staff who train these recruits…
If recruits are asked about their family members when I join I'm going to go all fucking in 😂
Outstanding Passing out ceremony.
I passed out with 600Tp in 1990. It’s a great day for the family. You usually go back with your family for the weekend before returning to your unit. We were sent straight out to our units and Iraq. This was the first time that newly passed out Marines had been sent to an operational theatre since WWll. Our families were unaware of this and you ought to have seen my mother’s face, ha ha.
Just one word “ Superb” !
Gordon Ramsey’s son is in there
No he's not. He passed out in October 2020, so you're more than 2 years off.
He is sf
Lt col Nick Foster has UKSF Parachute wings. That's badass.
SBS wings to be totally accurate.
CO has sbs wings on his right arm
i loved being a soldier
What the difference in the baige uniform and the blue dress uniform?
They differ in occasion for wear: No 1A Blues occasions are funerals, parades and other apprioriate ceremonial events, whereas for No 1B Lovat the occasions are: minor ceremonial occasions as an alternative to No1A
My son passed out in 235, June 2017. I was immensely proud and I'm not embarrassed to say I had tears in my eyes on one of the best days of my life. At this minute he's in Norway doing Arctic training. Love you H.
Well done boys, Early 2007 here and Herrick 12 + other, Miss it !! Best warriors in the world by far !!
what is the first song that the RM's band plays?
The Tune is Sarai Marais an Afrikaans Song and the word Commando is also Afrikaans The lads sing There is a Hundred bastards in the old Transvaal and Fug all in Triconamlee
1:07:02 Rocky Theme Song - Gonna Fly Now by Bill Conti. Was surprised they played that. Is it normal for music from other parts of the world/ media to be played at the parade?
The RM March apart is Sarai Marais An Afrikaans song
Yes, for the arms drill at the halt, slow marches or general inspection music, any "pop music" can be featured. Often played are Sailing by Rod Steward, Game of thrones theme or some Two Steps From Hell scores
What an excellent pass out parade day ! Congrats to the RMC
I,m ex army 29Commando Regt spent time there in Lympstone training with RM's. Hard graft , guts and determination. Well done to all those who earned that green beret.
kinkee kirkee huh???
I didn't know the Royal Marines did silent drill now, has that always been a thing or are we lowkey copying the US Marines now?
Tut
UK have done it for years, look at the RAF regiment Queens Colour Squadron as an example
The person speaking at 1:17:19 is a US Navy Chaplain and his rank is Lieutenant Commander
The troop sergeants shirt collar...??
18”
What’s the name of the song that plays at 55:10?
A bit of a late reply but the march is called Gibraltar. You can find a very good version played by the Massed Bands of H.M. Royal Marines on RUclips. Cheers!
@@Empreur500 Cheers for the reply!
My oldest Grandson past out just B4 Christmas 2019 he at muscatatuck Plymouth well proud.
Fucking love the fact they used rocky for the pass out parade
Sorry...but that is the scruffiest troop ‘stripey’ I have ever seen.....hoofin though!😂
Brings back memories from 1983 cheers for that ..
His rank is Warrant officer 1 (WO1) unsure of his name thi
USS Indianapolis Si mayo
At least the Royals can still march. State of Army drill these days is shocking even at pass out parades. That bloke is a Captain. My guess is he's their troop CO.
They have 32 weeks practicing
I didn't see a Captain, do you mean the Lt giving the orders on the passing out parade ?
Good to see all the other lads turning out for them.
Am an old Welsh Fusilier, we needed them in need of hour
Yes Soldier's must be happy always take care and be lovely right bye bye
To the looks of it he’s a Lance Corporal

Typical navy bullshit shut up they want to celebrate
Expects boot necks to protect his arse
Paras must cry wishing they had that day
Paras have the hardest training in the army
Jack Adams yea army this is the navy
Jack Adams mate will just done you a fucking belter. Also I’d like to add paras train off of ego, not mental strength 👍🏼
@@jimmytodd5225 completely different course paras tests you on speed while commandos is endurance
Go marines
Cross train with RAF Reg - good set of lads...
Great video. As an outsider I feel fortunate to share this troop's passing out from recruits to trained Marines. These men through their bearing and turnout show a clear pride in the uniform they wear and the cap badge that is displayed on their headdress- as it should be. The impression left is these Marines through their service will add to the glorious history of the Royal Marines. This is the smartest formation of troops I have seen in a very long time. Well done Marines!!!
Never in my 'Army' service did i ever see such an American style show, how new is this?
Mike P this is 2 years old now
Royal Marines Commandos have always passed out this way, it's definitely not a new "thing"
No more stamping the right foot when halting or after a drill move? Is that a new thing now?
Mike P: This passing out event took place just over one year ago - 1st December 2017
@@paulkelly8958 I meant is this the new way of doing things with the drill moves and American style marching?
No, Royal Marine's drill is quite different from that of the British Army and has been since God was a boy. There is no knee raising.
Royal marines are navy. Navy do not stamp in like army they also salute differently as well like the RAF and army salute similar
@@Ethan-yi4lm The Royal Marines doesn't salute like the the regular Navy.
The UK service Alphas for the world Marines just like the u.s. Marines
@low7782 🤭
i keep looking at his para wings not being centred
There saber wings
@low7782 look it up there really cool
@@danielmcmeekin1391there his sf wings init?
He is SBS Special forces.
@@NA-gf1zy SBS capbadge isn't worn when officers go back to a regular commando draft. When/if they return back to Poole, they'll go back to wearing the SBS beret when it is worn
Why are they only drafted to 40 and 43 commando ?
Likley because that's where their short
