Just a bit of clarity on word usage only meant to clarify and help people understand the process. The MS State Evaluation does not give rankings but rather ratings. Ratings of 1(best)-5(least) are given to each band in several areas of performance skills. In theory, all bands could receive the same ratings, all bands receiving 1s in all areas, all 2s, etc. Rankings are given at contests when bands are ranked from first place to last place in order of highest to lowest score. Twenty-four bands at a contest where they are ranked would result in naming a first-place band, second-place, third-place, etc.

Pontotoc Warrior Band where do I even begin. The pure heart of this band is unmatched to anyone else. Today we went to Tupelo High School and showed them who was boss. Pontotoc Warrior Band received their all superior rating once again. With ferocious enthusiasm and performance ability and great musicians such as, Maxell Todd and Kevin Espquirta. There is no suprise as to why Pontotoc is once again back on top. Great Job today, the road to championships has officially begun. Warrior Pride. Warrior Strong.

Pontotoc showed everyone the meaning of the name “All-superior Marching Band” at Tupelo by selling their show with a great run. We carried the energy from Northeast’s great run to the state evaluations and blew everyone out of the water with a 1 in every category. With dominating band members (Jt Tutor, Hayden Caples, etc…) Pontotoc’s marching band has truly become an unstoppable force this year.

It’s not Venomous, it’s Vidimus. It means “we have seen” in Latin.😉
