    What’s the little plastic tool for, where’s the fitting for the bag and how do you get the bracket off the cistern for clipping it on? Great vid thankd

    • @thomasdudleyplumbing
      @thomasdudleyplumbing 16 дней назад

      The plastic tool is for the removal of the filter at the back of the valve, for cleaning. The plastic bag is no longer supplied with the valve due to water regulations. The bottom inlet valve shown does not have a clip. If the valve is side entry the clip can be opened and it swings forward to allow the valve to be removed. The clip does not have to be removed.

      Hi David… Thank you for leaving your comments on our video. I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with our product. This is a strange one… As we have never seen this issue before? The product you are referring to is a pneumatic outlet valve and as the description details, the tubes are for air and should not contain water. If installed and connected correctly the tubes and button should have no physical connection to water, so it’s extremely unusual for water to be coming out of the button? I advise to start checking all of your pneumatic connections are secured and in accordance with our installation instructions. If you are still experiencing problems please contact our technical helpline on 01215307000 (option 4) and our product experts will help you resolve any further issues you may have.

      @TYDE thanks for your reply, I have looked at the push button tubes and can see water being sucked along one tube to the flush button when pushed, I can only now think it's a faulty tube connection at the flush valve end or the flush valve itself is faulty, the leak has stopped at the moment and the area is dry,but if it starts again I think I may take out the flush valve to check and have a look at the tube connection and probably remake the connection.. I think the flush valve just twists out of the cistern tank doesn't it? After turning water off..

      @@davelinkson1 Hi David. Thank you for replying to us. We’re glad to hear that the issue seems to be resolved. You are correct the flush valve is removed with a ¼ turn. It is possible to re-terminate the tubes without removing the valve. Simply remove the tube, cut off 1cm and re-connect. Pull the metal link on the syphon up (lever not connected) and let go. For the full flush. Pull the metal link on the syphon up (lever not connected) and hold for reduced flush. If the flush is now working ok, connect to the lever and re-test. Hope this helps. TYDE

    Big issue with the pneumatic flush valve is if you have low pressure water supply to the cistern, what can happen is the flush valve let's by when filling as not enough water coming in to fill the cup on the flush valve. If you can't get enough water to come in to the cistern what you can do is make sure the flow restrictor is removed as it sits inside the inlet spigot of the cistern & not inside the fill valve itself. If you still have fliw issues what you can do , is to remove the flush valve seal on the bottom , with a large flat blade screwdriver is to prise out the centre green portion which will expose a spindle, using either 1 or 2 penny washers or some solder wrapped around it . Replace the green button refit the flush valve seal & what that then does is help to hold the seal when filling. You might have tk do 2 or 3 tries at fitting some of the washers as if it's too heavy when you attempt to do a full flush when you let go of the button the valve won't empty the cistern. The manufacturers are aware of this issue although won't admit to it. So don't go thinking it's a faulty unit as what will happen is it will do the exact same thing with the new one. If you can remove the unit altogether & fit a different flush valve as these will give you major problems down the line. Another tip with these cisterns is adjust the water level to about 5 -10mm below the water line. The reason being is when the fillvalve shuts off , being an equilibrium it will take a few seconds to adjust the pressure & shut off. On a hp system this can take the water level above the overflow & in some cases spill out the front of the cistern itself. Again the manufacturers are aware of this but won't admit to it.

  • @actorlyric
    @actorlyric 2 года назад

    Would be great if you were to have a closer view of the bellows in operations & access to remove & replace . The video was all done at a distance . Better camera work would of helped. Mostly it's the bellows that are the issue & scale build up. Although its cheaper to replace the bellows , for peace of mind for the customer & future callbacks its best to replace the while flush valve. The push buttons are quite expensive especially the 2" button & in some cases it's cheaper to purchase a whole replacement cistern which comes complete with all parts as opposed to buying the parts separately.

    just out of interest, why would you change the turbo 88 to a Turbo Edge besides a demonstration, could I use the turbo edge to replace the Shires Lynx siphon, and retain the use of the metal fulcrum flush lever. your products are top grade, I have been installing them for years, with full confidence.

    • @Stillbusy105
      @Stillbusy105 2 года назад

      Because the turbo 88 is absolutely massive, quite often defeats the object of having a quick change siphon as the original 88 is so big you have to remove the flush handle & fill valve to get the bastard in place!!!

      Hi James, Check that the syphon height has been adjusted on both sides, and that the body section has been fully pushed down to the bottom of the downleg. Check that when the syphon is flushed, that the two washers, one small white plastic washer, above one small black O ring washer, fitted immediately below the metal C link, are sitting back down onto the top of the syphon body. If not, air will enter the syphon at this point giving only a reduced flush. Check that the C link fitted with the syphon, allows these washers to fully sit back down onto the syphon body. If not, you will need to increase the length of the C link. Check the water level in the cistern, if the water level is only just above the top of the syphon body, it could be that by the time the cistern lever is flushed and released, that the water level in the cistern may already have dropped below the top of the syphon body, allowing air to enter the syphon at this point, and break the syphonic action. If this is the case, increase the water level within the cistern. It should be at least to the height of the water level mark shown on the yellow locking pin. Hopefully this should help to resolve the issue you are having. Kind regards TYDE

But the downpipe had enlargened slightly as the lever was pulling at an angle of the plunger ..wore out the washer on plunger and distorted the down pipe pulling at that angle ...so be ware get z longer lever ..so it lifts lever straight up .. I put margarine or silcone gel to seal the syphon to the down pipe ..properly .. all works now .
