Hm I just imagined how fun this could be to use in combination with annotations which you convert to curves and then let a particle system like this follow the path of the curves.

Attribute shader node allows you to use attributes in your materials that are created outside the shader node editor. For example, weight paint groups, dynamic paint outputs, or geometry node stored attributes.

they did not remove search inside the add node, they simplified it - shift-a (add) and just type what you need, ie 'repeat...'; no need to click. thx for sharing, have fun
