does this camera have image stabilization in 4k mode?
I read the 5 axis stabilization is reduced to 3 axis when recording in 4k but I noticed there is no option to turn it on/off in the menu when in 4k mode! I just tested it an I have vertical stabilization but not horizontal. Camera records lots of noise when the OIS is on though so beware!
Beautiful pictures man!
Thank you, now I am convinced to buy this ! About the song, it is The Lion Sleeps Tonight, but which version exactly, please ?
is the 4k video better from the fz300?
Panasonic FZ1000 OR Samsung NX500 ? This is the question...
+Tamás Gulyás FZ1000, because the Samsung NX500 has got to overpriced optics.
And how is it possible to get better than the highly revered Leica Vario-Elmarit?
The stabilization seems like its post shoot processed. This I think is a stabilization effect applied to the raw footage.
im watching this in 480p And the video amazes me WOW O_O still not in HD nor in 4k
Belles images
I thought the image stabilizer did not work in 4K mode?? bob
+Robert Morin Me too, from the manual: The 5-axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer function is not available when recording a motion picture with [Rec Quality] set to [4K/100M/30p].
The stabilizer for panning is not good at all, even with a tripod. Not commenting on your fine video, just my comments on my own experiences at Yellowstone this fall. The video was just about unusable in video mode. Not happy at all with my FZ1000.
+Joan Ouellette Turn OIS off when mounting a tripod. Re: the FZ1000, it's a consumer bridge camera and that's a heck of a long lens to stabilize. Don't expect miracles and you'll be a lot happier with any gear.
+Markus Arike I also have Nikon's Coolpix P900 and I must say the stabilizer is a lot better on it. However, the downside of the P900 is terrible noise when zooming in and out and with no socket in which to place an outside sound recorder, it's not very good. Wouldn't it be nice if the two manufacturers could get together and put one out on the market that would suit videographers like me who really need a long lens without the hassle of carrying the heavy equipment of long lenses for wildlife..
Joan Ouellette If you are serious about wildlife photography or videography, a DSLR system like from Canon or Nikon would be a good choice. A Canon 7D with a 300 f4L IS or 100-400 4.5-5.6 L IS are excellent. Consumer P&S cameras just aren't meant for serious work. If you do want to use a bridge camera like the FZ1000, a good tripod and fluid head are essential, especially with 4K. Good luck.
You do not pan with image stabilization on you user a fluid head tripod. I suspect they didn't want to make this camera too good as they sell more expensive models. It knocks the spots off our Nikon Coolpix SuperZoom though.
You can turn off image stab for panning. Try it and see.

Final cut pro better program to edit 4K video
+MGV Photographer music?
+Henry “Adda” Chaisritha I use EDIUS to edit all my footage. Much faster than FCP and accepts all formats without transcoding
Andy Browne I said music
Hi! Which program do you recommend to edit 4k videos? Cheers :)

NICE! I embended this one into my website, is that ok for you? If not please say and I will delete it from there :)
Holy crap, that is clear! I am very impressed, and I'm watching on a laptop that's only 1080p resolution! I might get this camera if and/or when it goes half price. I take videos of trains as a hobby and am always looking for the best quality! I'm more of a Sony and Canon guy, but man, this Panasonic looks AMAZING! Out of curiosity, what's the battery life in minutes for taking video? I usually take about 20 minutes to an hour of video when I go to watch trains, so I'm wondering how many batteries I'd need to take with me. Any info appreciated, thanks for the video! :)
***** Sweet!
Great video! So what's your own opinion concerning the IS? How is it when panning? Also, any idea if the IS of FZ1000 is comparable to LX100?
