I would say a 4K reel with a medium heavy rod would be perfect!

I prefer 30lb test for braid but 20lb test is good too, incase you need more line! Also 50lb leader is what I usually use!

I work it two different ways, you can do a fast retrieve and make the lil mullet look like an actual frantic mullet or you can work it at a steady retrieve with some twitches and throw in some pauses, sometimes they’ll strike it on the pause or the twitch.
