I really hope we will see some pre cut track on the Boss and Screamin Eagle in St Louis in the next few years! Amazing coasters that would be even better with some of this new wooden track from Gravity Group.

My memories of Coney Island goes back to the 1950s when we lived in Cincinnati. We'd go there around 3 times a year. Coney Island was a traditional thing to go to. There was a children's home for kids close to Stratford Manor where we lived. Some of my best friends were from the children's home, and we'd take a few of the kids with us. Once a year, Coney Island would hold an Orphans Day event with free rides for all the kids. Busloads of kids were brought in from orphanages from around the city.. Because I was friends with kids from the Children's Home, they'd invite me to go along, even though I wasn't an orphan. I remember having a crush on a cute girl from the Home. We took a ride on the Wild River. As I recall, there was sort of a tunnel of love part at the beginning of the ride before you got to the waterfall. Good times!

Ryan is the best. I grew up going to Dorney, and I relate to him when it comes to Nostalgia. Dorney is a part of me.

I think it's different enough from Valravn , but the problem is going to be valravn's height. It's so tall, that it's going to tower over Sirens curse. It's gonna look very small sitting between Valravn, power tower, and tt2's spike. It would have been SOOO perfect for Kings Islands Vortex plot. It would be the perfect centerpiece that plot needs and would look epic there.

I don’t have the math skills to be an engineer, but boy do I love rollercoasters. I’m working on designing and building a mini wooden coaster with pop sickle sticks right now. It’s really neat to hear about the engineering process.

So the one thing that I HATE about cedar fairs way of running things is already creeping up. Just like they did with Geauga Lake, (just silently closing without warning) they are silently just gonna close Kingda Ka at Great Adventure, with zero word coming from the park. People aresaying that Ka is likely done for, and not even going to run it next year to give people a chance at last rides. Sorry, but not everyone can just drop everything, and take a trip. The sign for zoominjaro is already gone. Green lantern is going. And NO WORD from the park, or corporate. Why does this company have to be so secretive????? Is it too much to ask for just a TINY BIT of transparency here????? So, sadly, Great Adventure is losing at least 2 coasters, and 1 or 2 flats, with zero heads up. No, it's not a whole park, like they did with Geauga Lake, but it's the process that I'm complaining about. ESPECIALLY a ride like the tallest in the world. You don't just close that unceremoniously. What the heck is wrong with these people. I'm not asking for daily updates on decisions made, but something major, like closing the world's tallest roller coaster should be something that should be handled with transparency. Give people time to get their last rides!!! Seriously, what is one more year going to hurt? Especially if they use the closing to their advantage. "Hey guys, we have sadly decided that Kingda Ka is just too expensive to keep running, and you all know that this coaster has had its reliability issues. 2025 will be the last year Ka will ride. You will want to come to Great Adventure in 2025 to get your last rides on Ka. Come help us give Kingda Ka a proper farewell. Join us all year at great Adventure for a send off like no other." Don, would that get more, or less people to come to Great Adventure in 2025? Maybe the "press release" needs some tweaking, but is the idea a good one? Would Great Adventure gain more by keeping Ka open for 2025 than they would save closing it now? I think they would gain more than they would save. Then they can get rid of it.

I'm with Ryan. I hate it. Also, why put orange and white paint on the track, when panthers are all black? Had me thinking it was going to be tiger related or something. I also didn't like the other name they came up with. I mean...... Rapterra????

I visited Geauga :Lake two years, I am not sure exactly which years. The first was because I got two tickets from donating blood at the American Red cross. I think the first might have been the first couple years that Six Flags took over. I can remember that while I was there I could see the Sea World Water Skiing show talking place across the lake. The second time was after Cedar Fair took over the park. At that point my Cedar Fair pass had an option that allowed free parking at all Ohio based parks. So I visited on a very rainy and chilly weekend. The water park was mostly closed and so was many of the rides. I do remember walking across the pontoon bridge multiple times during that two day visit. One of the days, I actually left the park in the early afternoon and went to my motel. The rain stopped by the late afternoon and I returned to the park and was able to ride many of the coasters with no wait times. For some reason the The Raging Wolf (or was it Raging Bob's) wood coaster was shut down on both of my visits, so I never got to ride it. The most memorable ride that I had there was the Texas Twister. That was the first time I had ridden a ride like that. I since rode the version at Valleyfair (with the water theme/jets) and Tomb Raider at Kings Island.

I totally agree with the turning point for GL, it was when Six Flags took over, it felt like a completely different place and I believe it was then that Geauga Lake died.

Don, I am from Youngstown - did you ride the Wildcat and Jack Rabbit at Idora? I was 2 when the park closed, so never experienced it - but always been fascinated with it.

For pure ridership stats, how is the Racer not Don's #1?

Ok. The CEC closest to my childhood house was 2 story’s tall. The animatronics were huge about 15foot high! I’m not buying the FNAF movie killed it. I’m banking on the movie was the excuse to remove them, and from what I understand, most kids didn’t like anyway. Hits the uncanny valley

Also, Dominator opened as Batman Knight Flight. I still call it Batman today. Going to KD tomorrow actually.

Growing up 20 minutes from this place, it was our home park through the 80s until cedar fair so unceremoniously closed it. Didnt even give us a chance for last rides. I HATED cedar fair for this for so long. Theyre the only game in town though, so CP became our home park. Begrudgingly.

Six Flags was DEFINITELY RESPONSIBLE for The Death of Geagua Lake. NOT CEDAR FAIR!!!! Cedar Fair attempted to bring back the Charm to Geagua Lake, but the damage had already been done by Death Flags!!☠️ Now I know all of You Coaster Enthusiasts aren't going to go against Don Helbig's words. He KNOWS what He's Talking About, because MANY OF YOU Want to hate on Dick Kenzel. Closing Geagua Lake was a VERY DIFFICULT DECISION Dick Kenzel had to make.

Geauga Lake was my home park. I do miss it a lot. I used to be the webmaster of a fan site for the park from 2001 through the end (and kept the site going through 2017). I will always be supportive of the 2000 transformation to Six Flags Ohio. With all the massive attention given to Cedar Point for Millennium Force and Kings Island for Son of Beast little Geauga Lake would have easily been an afterthought in midst of all that if it wasn't for taking that bold move. I disagree with the fact that in 2007 it seemed there was momentum beginning in getting people back to the park. There were plenty of times the ride side lot would be near full on weekends. The midways were busier since Cedar Fair took over as compared to the disastrous 2004 season. After going to Dorney Park in 2005 I could see how that park could have been an inspiration for the direction of Geauga Lake's future. I also think Cedar Fair expected the park to turnaround quicker than they hoped. After removing two very high maintenance rides in X Flight and Steel Venom, they basically had a blank slate to start over and make the park more attractive for guests.

You think Tony is great, and that he cares? The only thing he cares about is moving up the corporate ladder, and unfortunately for all of us, he may be succeeding in that. Run into him in the park sometime. He won't even say hi to guests.

CP did "little" to celebrate blue Streak turning 60, OR Raptor turning 30???? Little??? No.... they did NOTHING!!!! Not even a tweet from TC. It was ALL about that 420' lawn ornament they have. Very disappointing

Thanks for sharing your list, Don! Some great stuff on there. This seems to always change but, any in a top 10 are definitely re-ridable and a lot of fun. Voyage Boulder Dash El Toro Phoenix The Beast Legend Thunderbolt Prowler Mystic Timbers Jack Rabbit I felt the same way that Ryan does about Legend until this year. It was especially great this year and especially amazing at night.

As much as I wish the ride was brough to a more neglected park, Im very fortunate to live within a day trip from Cedar Point. TT2 will not affect whether Id consider this the best new ride.. but it will certainly soften the blow of having to cancel my 2024 plans to visit CP. Btw.. I do not consider this America's first tilt coaster... in terms of having the element type. Most seem to go off of the ride model type. But Gringotts in Orlando 100% has a tilt track element. I personally dont think it matters how steep this is compared to it. But it definitely is not a ride model named after it.. but tilt track? It has at least 2 moments that I could notice.

Growing up going to parks in the 80s and 90s.... My opinion of vekoma was never good. However after riding Big Bear mountain at Dollywood that has completely changed my opinion. Big Bear mountain is one of the most comfortable rides I've ever ridden. If they can bring that kind of glass smooth experience to bigger thrill coasters that would be the greatest thing ever

I think this looks like a great ride but I am very concerned about capacity. 2 24 passenger trains is nothing for cedar point. I predict this is going to have the longest line in the park.

I gotta say maybe they don’t consider TT2 as a new ride since it was a remodel and with that being said it has been 9 years since valravn was built and needed a new thrill coaster

I dont know how I feel about the lighting on the trains. Cedar Point maintenance cant even keep the single bulbs working on Gatekeepers trains. You think theyre gonna do better with these? How long until we see every other car lit up?
