Marie-Agathe Charpagne Benefit Concert
Nice performance professor Charpagne! Student from UIUC
I own the same model (G2) Yamaha (purchased in 1976) that you described and played too beautifully for words. Hadn't realized, or had forgotten, that I own sheet music to Barber's Nocturne. But had never understood or appreciated it (or actually played thru) until I heard & watched your performance today. I'm 3 years late, but Congratulations on a most Magnificent performance ! I DID sit down at the piano with music today, but know I'll never be able to play it the way you did . . . much less commit it to memory.
Tremendous dynamic range and expressiveness. What a performance!
Dang, you folks coulda listed the performers and their pieces🤨
thanks for that #1 Bach. you're a thrilling performer! you're all inspiring to keep my 3 plus hours of practice in every day. mostly it's spent on my church organ stuff and my 2 cellist's sonatas up. just returned to Brahms Em cello sonata. which we might have performed at Green's just hooked into Chopin's Bolero which I wasn't familiar with. Kind regards Douglas piano, viola, organ, voice, guitar etc.
I love that you do this! Now the only thing that would make this video better would be to add performer names & pieces to the description...

My applause from Normandie. Hope to see you, dear Irene, on the Festival 2023.I wish you a success in the Musical World. I send you my love and great respect.
Very nice video
He did amazing stunning instruction via Zoom. Omg ❤❤❤
Bravissimo Jorge!
Thanks for listening and for your comment.
Bravo !! Any chance at getting the repertoire listed in the video description?
I've added it, with the exception of a piece I don't know and isn't correctly attributed 😞.
@@mumps59 thanks so much 🙏
Ah man couldn't she just put the gain on the yeti (the mic) a bit higher? I record myself with the same mic as the girl with the red dress and while obviously it is no professional recording, it does sound sufficiently rich and the clarity is adequate. I also wouldn't recommend that microphone position, though you need a stand to put it elsewhere I guess (I use a microphone arm from my desk)
(Despite of the technical challenges) This is absolutely priceless! ❤We are so privileged to see and hear this. The teaching is far above and beyond the music, it’s God-sent gift and I am in awe. Thank you Masters and the pianists.
could someone post a program? much appreciated and hoppy new year, guys. Douglas
Wow.. Just wow.. Wonderful Marie..!! It is great.
1:44:27 Chopin Ballade No.3 in A flt major Op.47
These are so beautiful to listen to. Edna Nerona's performance is radiating such a positive energy. I love this! ^_^
Wow Bravo 😍😍😍
Thanks!
Please upgrade record sounding system…
Right?!? These are a thing now; one would think they would invest a little something in the sound system🙄.
Hate to complain on this wonderful highlighting of talented amateurs, the piano is not tuned. Grateful for video of this event.
Very nice indeed!
amateur simply means to perform without pay, these pianists are highly skilled no doubt
Outstanding interpretation. He captures the extreme contrasts and drama that is beethoven, and better than many professional pianists. His second movement tempo is slightly faster than I like, and some detail is lost, but the whole is very convincing.
I'd only trust a surgeon that plays concert level classical pianist on the side.
By far the most complete pianist. There is nothing “amateur” about this lady. Her understanding and interpretation of various composers, her beautiful phrasings, her understanding of timing and rhythm, timbre and excellent pedaling is astounding. I am completely shocked she didn’t win.
Irene Longacre-Whiteside, and particularly Jonathan Lee gave wonderful performances. Since these Amateur competitions are gaining in popularity, it would be nice if they would invest in a proper mic system in this age of zoom and online viewing. It would make the listening experience that much more enjoyable🤗
Such a beautiful and elegant performance. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful! Way to go, Irene!
Quadros de uma exposição?
Exacto
Thank you (collectively) for sharing your talent and skill. And thanks to the sponsors and contributors who made this possible👍🏿👏🏿👍🏿👏🏿.
Jorge Zamora is the Winner
Irene 👏👏👏🌹
Rather haunting, and beautifully performed🙏🏿👍🏿👏🏿.
Absolutely wonderful!
It was wonderful to hear this MasterClass with Seymour Bernstein. Let’s do it again this time again with a ‘LIVE’ in person MasterClass.
Diana Gao: Her slender and elegant hands, The beautiful and smart piano sound flows out from the fingers, Flowing through my heart like tiny traces, Soft and quiet, soft and comfortable. The sound of the piano is like a butterfly spreading its wings, Fluttering with smart wings, Flowing brightly, It's like the distant sky outside the Great Wall, Precipitating clear light. The piano sound is simple and rich, Soft as the winter sun, Yingying and bright, Warm and calm. As cold as steel balls scattered on the ice, The grains are distinct, Every piece of bone. Intoxicating, Let us be passionate about life. A soft and intimate world! The piano is like life, It’s a little song that never ends, We listen carefully to every note, Let us feel the sound of the piano with our heart, Feel life with your heart
