This has turned more and more into a channel about my motorcycle riding and wrenching.
I have a 2021 Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro that I ride on long distance rides, but it is so new it doesn't need any wrenching.
2014 Triumph Speedmaster
This bike was just a little neglected. Bought for a winter project, finished it way too fast. Painted the bike this year, will probably sell.
2018 Indian Scout Sixty (SOLD!)
Bike was in a wreck, and figured this would be a good winter project for me. Took about 4 months of learning and wrenching, but the bike is back on the road.
2016 Indian Scout
Bought this from a Copart auction as a "flood damage" special. I am working on this bike and trying to record more videos.
2023 Indian Challenger
Rode to AZ Bike Week on this bike. 5500 miles in 10 days. Amazing long distance bike.

Grays River Covered Wooden Bridge (and a Deer)
This is along WA-4, really easy to get to. It was a point on the #PNWGT for 2024.
On my way out I saw a baby deer on the road. Hard to see in the video. Never saw the mom, this was clearly a baby.

Scout Swingarm removal and bearing pack
A few quick trigger pulls with an impact will crack loose the bottom bolt easily.
Research says 2018 and up use fork catridges not the springs that are in earlier scouts. Why your 2018 had springs is a mystery.
Fantastic man. Bars are stock, so did you dump money into the 2 inch lift?
I had a 2004 then sold it to buy a 2007 Harley Fatboy Sold that And the other day brought a 2015 speed master I fegot how well balanced and comfortable they are this one is a keeper
Hoping you have an answer to this as well. In my visible trays there is a "coolant" tray. Whether its on or off I don't see any coolant related tray, any clue what thats about?
@@jt_handle_1234 I don’t remember a coolant tray. Can you find it here: www.manualslib.com/manual/1995488/Triumph-Tiger-900.html?page=63#manual
It just goes to show that you can never please all the people all the time. I’ve had a 2016 for only a month an I’ve part exes it for a RE Super Meteor I nicknamed the Triumph The Barge, because I felt it road like one. I couldn’t get it round corners without ploughing a furrow with the foot pegs. No doubt it suites some riders, but not for me.
Thanks, have to replace my swingarm bolt and I was having trouble finding the torque spec
The way you talk about making kids smile and how much park rangers have to deal with, you seem like a good guy. Thanks for being awesome. Hopefully getting my own motorcycle soon, and I'm thinking it's going to be a Rebel 500. Edit: Looks like we're in the same area-ish too! Maybe this little island will be one of my first longer trips. Awesome video!
@@_Rezzik thanks! Rebel is a great bike. And there are a LOT of great day rides in this area!
Don't have to take off speed sensor from front to remove the front wheel.
Jason is your windshield 15" or 17" ? Is that the Dark Smoke or Clear? Did you move it up and test it again?
That was a 15”. I did move it up and loved it. I have since sold the bike. But the windshield was great, easy to just pop off if it was a really nice day.
23:47 holds seal upside down and points up saying metal ring side up. Doing this job please compare with old seals! The larger seal gap goes DOWN to capture pressurized oil to force the sealing surfaces against the fork tube and inside of the lower fork leg.
I actually caught that and fixed it, but didn’t record that part. You are correct.
Yes, definitely missing the driving the seal back in.
Hmmm. Will have to look at other videos. I’ve done that job three or four times. Maybe I thought it was already covered. The seals have a right and wrong side. If installed the wrong way they will leak oil. But seating them is pretty easy. I have a tool for it.
I love this song
I just want to sleep in that room every night and be able to wake up in the morning and ride every one of them for the rest of my life❤❤❤❤😅😅
no reserve tank? either way, keep the shiney side up brother!
There is a 1 gallon reserve, but I have never tested how far down it will let me go! I was nervous.
I don’t know what you’re doing but be safe brother! Looks like a lot of fun. Let me recommend “can’t hurt me”…a good book on audio for a long ride.
Doing the PNW Grand Tour, and riding for charity. Will be 10 days of glorious riding and more riding.
@@jasonshortphd as a former Washington resident, and I’m sure you know, you’re in for a treat. Be safe dude!
Does it work with the Cowl on ?
Tnx for posting, however I miss the part where you put the seal in place, to me that is a real bugger
Hi Jason, do you have any video about replacing the gear positioning sensor?
No, sorry I didn’t have to do that yet.
I"m debating ordering these as touratech is one of the few companies that make racks for the 2024 models, apparently they changed the exhaust and a lot of the side racks no longer fit. Wondering if you think they would interfere with a pillion riding 2up? I am looking at ordering the 45l for both sides.
I had the offset sizes. No problem for pillion. My wife wanted me to install a grab rail on it for her. I didn’t know they changed the exhaust, interesting.
This guy knows a lot about Indian…💪🏻👏🏻👍🏻
How much you pay for it??
Glad you got out 🎉
my friend a question. The manual recommends changing the fork oil at 15,000 miles for my scout bobber, but the dealer says it's optional. What do you recommend doing or not? It's a little expensive, it's $500 just to change the oil. At this point there is no oil leak.
Yes. I do it every two years. It’s simple. You can do it yourself. For simple oil change you don’t even need to pull the forks off. Just take the top off and insert a hose to suck it all out and refill. $500 is way too expensive for that service!
Is there any tutorial video you can recommend so I can do it myself
@@JavierGonzalez-nb5fm I like Delboy videos. Not your bike, but same procedure. Vacuum pump is cheap and you will use it over and over. ruclips.net/video/CLofB5PKFVs/видео.htmlsi=43vIFkztwD37cBwz
Thank you, I really appreciate your help.
What kind of jack did you use, Where did position it on the bike?
Center stand plus a small scissor jack under the front skid plate.
There's never too much confort in our life . Enjoy brother .
this is the only video i have found that tells how to take the radiator out , thank you so much, was able to get my starter put on thanks to you
Awesome! Good job wrenching on your bike. Glad I was able to help.
Really helpful and informative video. Thank you.
Great video. Very informative. Thanks for taking the time to make it 😊
Does the radiator need to be removed to get to the starter?
You don’t HAVE to, but it made it easiest. Watching this you will then understand how it comes out, if I hadn’t done this it would have been harder for me I think.
You hope
One fuck of an ugly bike.
Pretty. Love the saddle tan leather
What is this bike cost
Gorgeous bike😊
Using copper anti-seize on motorcycle bolts is a good habit to get into. I've found it to work very well.
Do you have to remove the breaks to remove the tire?
Yes the calipers have to come off.
Thank you for video sir. Where did you get that red hex tool that you lossen the pinch bolts etc with?
T handle hex. Got it from Amazon. Lichamp T Handle Allen Wrench Set... www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQM4RR6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Nice. Does it requires bluetooth module from triumph to integrate it is odometer?
The Odometer is on all Tigers (handled by the ECM). The TPMS is a factory option. I don't think it is using bluetooth because it takes a special tool to turn them on and off for pairing to the bike.
Which Scottoiler unit did yo7 run
It’s not a scottoiler. It’s a Tuturo. No power and no vacuum. It works from the swingarm movement.
I bought a '15 mode; that looks identical to yours. It's my first bike and I love it. I have plans to add bags and highway bars so I can have pegs and stretch out. I love the fuel capacity and the comfortable seat will both allow for some longer rides. I will look into doing the headlight upgrade you did. The stock headlight leaves a lot to be desired. Thanks for the video!
I also ended up custom painting the bike. Loads of fun for sure. Enjoy your bike!
@@jasonshortphd Thanks!! Eleanor will be around for a long time
Did you remove the right side of the frame?
Yes I did. It makes it easier to get in there.
Would a slightly taller front tire compensate for the speedo being 7-10% optimistic?
Good question, I honestly don’t know. Most Triumph measure at the rear wheel speed sensor. I haven’t actually checked the schematics on the Tiger 900. I have a Zumo XT mounted above the screen now and it has an accurate speed on it.
That's super cool on the work you're doing, Jason!
Thanks! Did 1700 miles last three days.
i also own a 2015 Speedy (a black one) and its great to see some videos of this triumph on yt. I see you have a gadget ub the middle of the handbar that looks really smooth , is that a GPS?
It’s called Beeline. It uses the phone to tell it where to go. You can use it like a very simple gps. I mostly use it as a compass to my destination. Then I pick roads at random that lead me in that direction. It’s pretty cool and minimalistic.
@@jasonshortphd i found it yesterday searching "circular gps". Already ordered one 😂it look so smooth in the middle of the bar. Thanks
@@Alex-ps8qg It’s a fun bit of kit to be sure. The app will also track all your rides.
Cool!! I graduated from Enterprise High School way back in 65. I used to love riding on Highway 299 heading west out of Redding. The ride up to Mt. Lassen was great too.
Great vid, Jason. Super informative. Where did you get that caliber piston rotating tool? I can’t seem to get my pads to retract back far enough and the pads are constantly rubbing on the disc. If I jack the front up and spin the wheel, the friction quickly slows it down. Mine doesn’t spin nearly as free as yours. Is there a way to lube those pistons? Or is the copper slip to help the pads retract? Sorry, that was a lotta questions. 😅 Great looking bike. Mines a ‘20 Rally Pro.
I got the "Motorcycle Brake Piston Pliers" off of Amazon. They are a great tool to rotate the pistons to help break up corrosion that builds up on them. And yes, it also causes them to not retract as well also. There is no lube for them directly. They have rubber seals inside them caliper that are probably dirty. I pump them out almost all the way, use brake cleaner on the pistons and then push them back in a couple times. The copper slip on the back of the pads helps with squeaking of the pads when you apply the brakes. They vibrate a little against the metal of the caliper. The other thing that can impact retraction is water in the brake fluid. If you have a 20 you are past due for a brake fluid replacement (every two years). The fluid absorbs water from the air, and will become more "spongy" and stop working as well. It's easy to do as well. One bottle of brake fluid can do front and back.
Holy cow that was so much good info! Thank you so much, Jason, for that informative and super rapid reply. I really appreciate it. Happy riding!
Hello I have a 2018 scout and I can't find the abs box can you help thank you
Are you sure you have an ABS model? Mine doesn’t have ABS.

Do you wait in line with cars to buy a ticket or ?
No, you can cut the line. You can go all the way to the ticket booth, pay for the ticket, and then they will tell you to go to the front where there is bike parking for boarding.
