    Here is some feedback on Freddie's serve 1. He is opening up his body too early and moving his right foot past left foot, it seems like he's trying to do a pinpoint stance, which fine, but there is no coil on the serve 2. The toss should be at 12 O'clock, which would force his right foot the be behind left foot and allow him to coil and uncoil, which helps with power. 3. He needs to keep the arm all the way up on the toss. The left arm drops too early 4. His contact was a little too early and I suspect that's because he felt like his were in a rush to hit the ball, so maybe a slightly higher toss to have more time for his swing.

    Honestly he's too slow and his hand skills aren't that great to be playing serve and volley the whole match like that...way to take care of business. You did what you had to do to move on to the next round.

    Reason #3541 it is entirely valid to hit right at the net rusher. Few hard forehands to the chest, he'll adjust shot selection.

    Nice playing! Work on the second serve as others have said. If you can figure out a topspin forehands on returns....you'll be in great shape!!! Those slices are the only reason he was able to get you on some points on the serve and volley.

    This is some really good “men’s club” tennis. Most will not understand away from junior’s or futures this is dominant tenni. Great camera angle, great hitting. First set you were like a pro giving him forehand practice. Second set you had him. I always appreciate a tight call to get my head back in the game. Up 5-1 bet he wishes he just called it out…

      I am not sure. I reckon he doesn’t play much. He was a freshman so he could have some room for development but he didn’t seem to care that much. You won’t develop if you don’t care to develop

    Before watching this match, just by reading the title I’m thinking the counterpuncher needs to play his consistent brand of tennis and be patient in order to win. And not play outside his normal style, otherwise he would play into the pusher’s hands. Time to watch and find out what happens.

      We knew each other quite well and knew neither one of us would cheat each other and both under the philosophy if you don’t know for sure just play it! I had one serve in the match where I didn’t like the call but because he called the balls so consistently the whole match I can’t really complain but trust he saw out

    The guy in yellow would be a ntrp 4.0 in New Jersey. I think Utr10 is good enough for strong D3 school this guy clearly nowhere near that.

    • @unlimitedtennis
      @unlimitedtennis Год назад

      I played D3 for a few years and practiced with some D1 players. I know the UTR to college correlation pretty well. D3 is approximately UTR 6-9 D2 is approximately UTR 9-11 D1 is approximately UTR 11-13 All of that with some exceptions. UTR 10s would wreck D3. There are some but they could be playing D2 and or even make some D1 teams. The reason for staying in the D3 as a UTR 10 is the recognition, playing time, and success rate

    Really agree that the “better competitor wins not the better player” I would get so mad when I’d lose to friends with less refined groundstrokes blaming pushing n junk balls, at the end of the day winning trumps whatever style you play, and forcing your opponent to make errors is an essential part of tennis

    A little tip is to not put ice in the water, since the body is so warm it uses alot of energy one warming up the water. This makes you more tired during a match :) Basically just wasting your energy

  • @Back2Zack
    @Back2Zack Год назад

    Great match! One small thing I noticed for Will, it seemed very easy for the viewer and for the opponent to tell where you were going with your shots. I think just keeping in mind while you are attacking to "disguise my shot" and maybe going back behind the player would make a huge difference. He's often running to your ball before you even make contact, kind of negates how great your strokes are. (not to diminish Matt's ability to read the ball, that is impressive too)

    The only reason you loose to a junk baller like this is your luck of skills and understanding of the game. Blame yourself. The junk baller will not exceed beyond the level they are playing because they are wasting their time by loosing opportunities to improve their skills.
