I had this issue and solved it with this video. Thanks! I found what appeared to be fragments of a green jolly rancher candy on the floor, very bright translucent green and a bit sticky, but reassembled they look like a rubber bumper. The parts I had on hand were an M6x16 button head screw, an M8 washer (less than ideal but I didn't have an M6 washer), and an M6 locknut. Getting to the pedal is a pain. I cut the ziptie attaching the sensor harness to the bracket and unplugged it so I could get out from the floor of the car and tighten the fastener in comfort (faster than dropping the screw a hundred times while trying to insert into the pedal bracket upside down under the dash - I know, I tried it). Reinstalled easy using a regular ziptie to secure the harness: 1) Go through the hole from the back 2) Double back through the same hole 3) Insert the end through the locking part of the ziptie 4) Tighten the ziptie around the harness 5) The locking part should stop the ziptie from slipping through the hole Thanks again!

Sincerely, thank you. I have a 2003 Pathfinder that was having this issue. I changed the peddle sensor, Throttle body (TPS is built in), Brake Relay.... and it was just that little plug! mine plug was still in, but I put a bolt and washer, and that solved everything. Feeling grateful after a week of failure to come across your video tonight!

Man, you saved me a whole heap of money. my daughter broke down 2 days ago at work and I was going to have it towed today. I woke up this morning stressed and saw your video. I immediately went to the parking lot where her car was and looked in the car on the floor. There was that little green spacer on the floor. I lightly stepped on the pedal and started the car. The tcs and slip light went off and I was able to drive the car home where I put a nut and bolt in the hole, re assembled the gas pedal and everything is fine. Thanks.

Life Saver! Thank you sir! Stranded, within walking distance of an Ace Hardware. 10MM Socket 1/4 in ratchet, a nut & bolt. Appreciate the post. Also the same issue with the brake light switch if anyone experiences the brake lights staying on. Little rubber Grommet/Disc dries out hardens an falls apart. Excellent vid!

Spent all afternoon going through the service manual, checking voltages and continuity to the ECM, watched this and ended up finding the little green thing on the floor. Completely insane that Nissan doesn't mention that at all in their manuals. Thank you so much!

I can't thank you enough! This video just saved me from a lot of stress. I recently bought a 350z and after washing the car I found that little green rubber spacer on the floor. Not knowing where that came from, I just tossed it aside. The next day the car didn't want to start and I didn't make the connection. But after watching this video and go through the comments about the spacer, my Z is now back to life again! Thanks!
