Real talk tho, what if we just never had a kid? There wasn't any kind of timeframe given for when there needed to be a kid in the deal, just that _if/when_ there is a first born it will be taken. So really if he doesn't do his "due diligence" (if ya know what I mean) there's no real guarantee that he's getting paid. He said there are no loop holes, but that seems like a big one.

This tale is, as I see it, a cautionary one. Mean what you say, and for the Gods’ sakes *say what you mean* , because if you don’t, people will most likely take your words in the complete wrong direction! I don’t see the man as being ‘shallow in his love’; rather, literal brain took things literally, and his wife never actually explained herself properly. this idea is truly so creative! giving someone sickly the opportunity to fulfil a warrior's feat is so smart and selfless of the listener. and i feel like you really showed that anger that the speaker was probably seething with lol. i hope this becomes a series where the speaker gradually learns to appreciate the good souls and the soul of the listener :)
