Marcus a modern looking player: tall baseliner
Beautiful slice from Pablo
Marv Albert's lack of tennis knowledge was shocking and appalling. You'd think that a professional sportscaster would put in the work to learn about the sport before doing Wimbledon. And what was TNT thinking by not bringing in someone that actually knew tennis? Being cheap, i guess. Also shocking and appalling was Taylor Dent's lack of conditioning. I remember this match very well and i couldn't believe how a 19 year-old could be in such bad shape; especially a serve and volleyer who isn't running all over the court like a baseliner. Dent's lack of conditioning as well as numerous injuries were the reason he had such a short playing career. Bit he went on to become a decent broadcaster. I'm not sure if he's still doing it because i haven't heard him in awhile.
Braasch is the type of player you would go to quallies just to see him play. I've seen both Dustin Brown and Fabrice Santoro play live, entertaining tennis.
André is the Best ❤
Agassi wig here or is that later? Either way it’s not a good look

Saint Francis of Agassi vs Saint Edburg patron saint of Bicester Priory
It's funny you could see the complete changing of the guard, a 31 year old Mats vs a 25 year old Andre, the game had moved on where you couldn't just lob moon balls back at your opponent which Mats did most of his career, Andre was such a clean hitter he just demolished him here, it was Andre's turn against Nadal in 06 when a 36 yr old Andre would at least trade shots with Nadal at Wimbledon but that was the changing that has led us to the game today, which if I'm honest doesn't produce the variety of player we see compared to the 80', 90's and early 00's.
But now the 37 year old Djokovic is still #1 in 2024. These things keep evolving. So much the better!
This is such an oversimplification of Wilander's game. He played with so much variety and skill and you call him a moonballer.
Andre is the Best ❤
Andre is the Best ❤🎾
He better have banged Brooke later that night
I live in Cincinnati & I remember earlier in the Tournament Agassi rented out the Beach Water Park which was located right near the Tennis Complex, he rented it out after hours for what was a big entourage back then, I remember we drove past the Water park as they were going in, must have been at least 25 or more Beautiful young girls going in with him, must have been a heckuva party.
Agassi vs the shadow of Wilander who, ranked 102, arrived in a semi-final beating Edberg at 2 round, Ferreira on third and Kafelnikonv in quarter final....
A shadow is right. A good result at this tournament. 👍
Agassi still beat Sampras in the Final, though.
@@mrbungle7586he was only 31 - that's prime.
@@stephenglasse9756 no it certainly wasn't his prime. He was way passed it. If you know about his career, he was done after 88 as far as prime goes. 👍
Always loved watching Marcos play.
It's odd to hear Tony Trabert doing an ESPN telecast. Perhaps it's because his hometown was Cincinnati?
Santoro looks like a pudgy old gym teacher.
Point @ 8:20 is insane
Amazing quality your channel deserves more attention and respect for sure
sounds like the announcers are Stolle and Perry.
Fred Stolle & Cliff Drysdale
@@asud2571 yeah they were a standard tandem for men's tennis shown on ESPN in those days.......Mary Carillo would join them often down the road.......
edberg is a pleasure to watch now that i'm older and can appreciate what a maestro he is. two contrasting games. so good to watch.
the temperature this match was played in is harsh. gigantic effort from both these legends.
Braasch was a real eccentric, on and off the court. He was open about his smoking (often doing so during changeovers) and his unusual game bothered some players ranked much higher, including a win over Edberg
Later this guy Karsten at the end of his career after two beers and a half a pack of cigarettes decided to be the best ever female player. Stunning and brave.
to be fair, it was at the end of his single carrier, he continued to play a fiew years in double, where he reached 2x round of the last 8 teams in Grand chlems (quarter final). So he probably could have beaten a fiew others in the top 200 or even top 100 male players. Not really the averadge beyond top 200 player.
Alexander Mronz was Steffi Graf boyfriend :)
Hard to know the score lol

Biased ass commentators on this game. Obviously didn’t like Agassi
surprised nobody made any comments about agassi going off court, being in the air conditioned inside really helps a player get relief from the heat, while edberg has to stay waiting in the heat
2:40 the worst call i've ever seen in a professional match
If Scott Draper had been 6' 1 he could have been the GOAT... The guy was so gifted that he has also played golf professionally !
Agassi was 5'11
Must have been the last good result of Mats in a tournament ?
He made the final at Pinehurst in 1996 and that was it.
@@JD-jc8gp ah yes thanks Well anyway it was a fantastic career, especially 1988 unforgotten
@@WONGLER I was looking at Mats's results in the 1990s and was surprised to see how little he played after 1989. He pretty much became a part-time player after making the semi at the 1990 Australian. The effort he put in to get back in the top 50 rankings in 1995 was valiant.
@@JD-jc8gphe needed to get stronger with a solid weights regime to keep up with the big hitters but it doesn't look like he did. He definitely had enough variety and all the shots but just not enough in them towards the end.
@@JD-jc8gphe had a lot of problems with drugs, sadly. Just like Agassi. It seems the tennis tour psychologically destroys a lot of people and leaves them as addicts to cope with the stress. Monica Seles got addicted to food, but Mats Wilander, Andre Agassi, Vitas Gueralitis and Pat Cash turned to drugs
Incredible video quality. Agassi had a date with destiny in ‘94. He won the US Open that year.
Great. Do you have the match against Becker?
I was at this match! Got behind Andre’s chair at the end of the third set to get something signed, then he lost that set. The great thing was I got to sit behind his chair for the entire fourth set!I didn’t get anything signed but a friend gave me her ticket with Andre’s autograph that she was able to get prior to the match outside the facility!
Thanks for the videos....do you have any videos of agassi in cincinnati in 04? thinking the Moya match
Amazing man keep them coming 👍
Perfect timing on the commentary - watch the last couple points starting at 53:00. Love the old Wimbledon “jingle” music.
