This is hilarious, but I still consider 1st contact the 3rd best Star Trek movie, only behind star trek IV and wrath of Khan, and it might be my fave. I know the retarded elements to it, but I like the concept. Easily digestible for people who don’t know every nuanced thing about Star Trek

Unfortunately,, and in stark contrast to the great Star Wars review,, this one is about as lame these atrocious Star Trek movies.

Not only is the rocket insanely too fast, but the light from the exploding sun gets back to Picard instantaneously. So that is a bigger Cinema Sin, as no star has developed multi-warp speed. Apologists might wiggle out of part of this by claiming Sauron's rocket has warp drive...but they can't wiggle out of my point.

"Kirk gets buried under rocks" This is always funny to me because burying the dead under rocks is an absolute last resort solution when you don't have time or enough hands to do it, and you're just ok with leaving the guy there. However in Lord of the Rings, that idea is fully explored in the sense that when Boromir is killed, Aragorn and the others did not have the time or the tools necessary to give him a proper burial, and they would not have someone as honoured as Boromir be left in the middle of nowhere under rocks to be defiled - so they sent his body in an elf boat down the river to the sea, sending him off with a song and ceremony as best as they could, which tells so much about the lengths one could go to give proper honors, despite the hour, the situation and the bleakness of it all. But no, Kirk (who saved the universe countless times) falls off a bridge and gets buried under rocks. Oops.

They need to get away from the female protagonists, i was getting boring with Covenant already, Danny McBrides character should have been the lead and maybe the sole survivor.
