Westerham Railway Station Kent, situated at the foot of the North Downs, shortly before it's closure in 1961. My model of the line from Westerham to Brasted
So helpful was down there yesterday trying to work it out ,
My late father was a junior signalman at Dunton Green the day they clipped and padlocked the line and locked out the points and signals. I remember in the 70's walking the line with my grandparents and on the odd occasion on a sunday afternoon out my father would take us down to Crayford's and ooh and ahh at what was going on in there. Its changed so much since the motorway took it all, I imagine the A25 the road the ton up bikers loved is a shadow of its lively self. My father as it happens had a proper smack up on his Norton Commando down towards Godstone, had to have surgery to rebuild part of his face and he never rode again.
We used travel to Westerham on the Green Line 705 from London
Great model. but sadly the number of passengers was totally realistic.
Lovely model and a great intro👍
Well, I just don't know WHAT to say about this. It starts imitating a commercial for some soft drink. Then it ZOOMs through the air - as it some sort of rocket - and I don't mean the sort that won the design competition on the Liverpool & Manchester in about 1825. Finally we see a very nice model of Westerham Station, but the train's hauled by an M7, which I'm certain never ran on the Westerham Valley Railway - how do I know that, 'cos I was on the committee of the society which for a while ran a platelayer's trolley along the line from Westerham while we took care of the line and it's cuttings, bridges and embankments. We really thought we would be able to reopen it and run it as a preservation line. But we couldn't. I'll not bother you with the reason why we couldn't. All that was in the early 1960s. On the beautiful model - the train as it leaves, passes under an overline bridge - which certainly NEVER existed on the way out of Westerham.
Who fancies a pint in the crown ?
Lovely modelling as usual So sad I do not see your regular updates nowadays.
oooh I am on a forum now, www.dccconceptsforum.com/pm/inbox?show_id=3604339, drop in and say hi :)
Thanks Jaz
love it ..so real..grandad drove the H class engine 1960.
Hi Lee, glad that it has brought back happy memories
@@adrianprime6489 so real that must have taken a lot of research. I remember walking about the station area-no health and safety then. Great Uncle Ernie used to let me in the end of the brake coach.I was about 8 or 9 what great memories as you say. Have you memories of this in the 60s?
The coaches I remember were different maroon, but I guess they used all sorts. Memories!
Grandad drove the last train on westerham branch. You must have done a lot of research to get it looking just like it was. Brilliant.
this is extremely authentic-scenery and all .My agrandfather drove the engine till its closure in 1961lee
Brilliant. My Grandfather drove this train in1961
THIS IS VERY TOUCHING FOR ME AS MY GRANDFATHER DROVE THE ENGINES ON THIS LINE FOR A FEW YEARS UNTIL IT CLOSED .I ACTUALLY WAS ON THE TRAIN IN 1961 AS A YOUNG BOY. HE WAS DAVID BOORMAN AND SERVED 45 YEARS FROM SECR TO BR DAYS.I MISS HIM.
nice video of the model trains.

I'm chatting on this small forum at the moment, plus.google.com/communities/113419797121588479410 It is internet based so adding all my pictures there is not a problem. Plus I can continue to do my oddball stuff there, as well as popping stuff up on my FaceBook and Google+ account (as it links directly to our RUclips) I pointed them towards your last video (earlier today) with a link so you might see some traffic from them.Your modelling is wonderful and the videos polished, and the music just the icing on the cake.
have you got a new one coming out????
arboretum valley Hi Jaz, hope you are both keeping well, it's very quite on rmweb without AV. At the moment I am building the road bridge for Chevening Halt which is taking far longer than i thought. I may make another video when that's finished as it's something that's good fun and a change from modelling. The suns out so it's time to mow the lawn, we are to malta in a few days time to see our son who lives there, so no modelling for a few weeks, all the best Adrian
How to model on a shoe string.....always inventive and money saving. Top notch modelling. So glad you did NOT set fire to it LOL.Some excellent ideas worth copying...if only I could model them as well as you ;)
very dated modelling...LOL....as you have the ERA to a T. ;) Spot on...Love the bus.
excellent realism of the houses and their gardens, top notch modelling, always realistic colours.
Love the music, makes me smile, love the realism of the modelling. Excellent work.
Superb video, shows why it deserved to be in print on BRM British Railway modelling magazine
