I see you are putting foam board between the rafters. How thick is it and are you putting another layer over the first one? Are you leaving a space between the foam board and drywall?

We are doing layers. Two staggered 2 inch foam boards (R 20 in total), oane layer of mineral wool (R 30), an small air gap( under 0.5 in ) then aluminum foil with 3mm core (R 15), then vapor barier. All sealed up with R 65 in total. Minimum required here in R48 ( it used to be required R 38)

You should be able to heat the cabin with 2 candles 😊

@@LarchLine have you thought about making one of those videos where you show the whole cabin build in fast forward in less that 30 minutes. People seem to like those videos. I think it would be like a combination of all your building footage in one video. It sounds like a lot of editing to me. I have noticed when other channels get lots of subscribers it seems to happen practically overnight.

Yes... it happens overnight. I will do a walk through during the winter. It is a lot of info that I have to compress. Thanks for the suggestion. Now we are insulating the roof, which has 4 layers of 3 different kinds of insulations, and we are working on the well hook up to the house. Unfortunately, we can't find parts. It is crazy how after COVID you can't find a lot of things, and one of them are the pumps, the wires for the pump, the connections... we have to shop around and get them. I had somebody trying to charge $2000 for 500 feet of submersibile wire. That normally costs under $700... When we had to install our 400 amps electrical panel, it cost us $1700 when normally is under $700 And we were lucky to find it because there were nowhere to find... Everything doubled and triple in pricing, and that's not good for us. That's why I'm trying to make the RUclips channel monetized because even if I take a little bit, it's still extra to pay for other things.
