Excel - Adding and Graphing Sine Waves with Any Amplitude or Phase
Просмотров 3233 года назад
At Level 3 or HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering you'll be asked to add sine waves together and graph them. You'll possibly also do this in AS or A-Level Maths. Excel makes the process so much faster than using a calculator to find the sine of angles with or without phase shifts. This video shows you how to create a dynamic graph of sine waves that changes as you change amplitude and pha...

Binary Division - worked examples and theory
Просмотров 403 года назад
Division is repeated subtraction. I use the 'bus top method' for binary division, it seems the easiest way to me without having to drop down remainders and faffing about. We see if the divisor (the number we're dividing BY) fits in to the dividend (the number we're dividing); if it does, put a 1 on top, if not, put a zero and look at more columns of the dividend. Simples :)
Binary Multiplication - worked examples and theory

Computers can't actually multiply, all they can do is shift digits, compare them or perform logic functions on them. Multiplication is base two is a process of left-shifting and then adding. Enjoy :)
Proving Boolean Laws using Proteus Logic Gates
Просмотров 3553 года назад
This is the first video regarding Boolean simplification using Boolean Algebra. At school this wasn't well explained so I struggled. I decided to teach myself and then ended up as a senior hardware/firmware designer :) I use Boolean Algebra a lot in my designs; if you ever get stuck with Boolean Algebra, just think back to logic gates and it will all made sense (Hopefully!) :)
Boolean Simplification of Logic Gates including negative logic and DeMorgan's Theorem

The Complement Law states 'A OR NOTA' = 1 Absorption Law States 'A OR NOTA.B' = A B When simplifying truth tables we can choose whether to create expressions for output Q or its complement, NOTQ - we could be quicker using the type that gives less states to consider on our truth table. Here I've deliberately gone for the longer option to prove simple truth tables using the complement law, absor...
Absorption Law Proof using Truth Tables
Просмотров 3913 года назад
Ever wondered where these crazy laws of Boolean Simplification come from? No doubt, 100s of years ago mathematicians used Multisim or Proteus to prove them :) Here we will use truth tables. If you're ever unsure of your Boolean simplification equivalence, you can put your functions into a truth table and check that they are identical. Happy days :)

6:34 isn’t the frequency of the shown graph 1/(2pi). Because the graph shown has a period equal to 2pi.

    • @E4E
      @E4E 2 года назад

Hi, at the time you mentioned, the circuit has done one cycle in 2pi radians. Remember, the x axis here is in radians, not seconds. A one Hz signal will always spin through 2pi radians or 360 degrees in one second. I hope this helps!

Hi Dillinger, it's great to hear comments like this. It took months to make and it's worth it when people take the time to comment, especially when it helps people understand. My teachers many years ago skipped so much, so it was a challenge to understand, back in the 1990s. Take care and feel free to share. See also Electronics4engineers channel. Thanks again, James.

Jay - A good question. The 3x3 video is going to be uploaded later today. The matrix must be square (3x3, 4x4, .. nxn). In order to find det(J) for matrix J, we need to take the first row of elements and multiply them by their respective minors (the mini 2x2 matrix determinant around them). See www.mathcentre.ac.uk/resources/uploaded/sigma-matrices9-2009-1.pdf Video to explain will be up soon :) All resources shared on our community. Good question, James.

  • @jayhowarth598

How would this work if the matrix was say 3x3 or 3x4, does it only work with 2x2 matrices?
