These are 'meh' at best, but I was able to make them work. I picked them up from Amazon for $9.95 each.

Horrible vid of me showing off what I'll be wearing for OP STONE BREAKER. After the vid I ditched the Sordins. I need to find the gel ear pads for better comfort. This is NOT an Impression of any kind. I'm NOT trying to look like this or that Unit. Like I stated in the vid, I just added a bunch of green pouches to my coyote PC to help cut down on possible fratricide issues. Please feel free to ...

I had been thinking of doing this for some time. Today, just turned out to be that time. It took about 90 minutes from start to finish. MoH and BF are now even more fun. I even get to listen to Bass Music again.

The end of this series. The RAID modded DCUs are done. This last vid is a quick overview of the whole uniform. Right now I don't plan on doing another one. I might tweek the two that I have or do another one.....for cash. Check back. I will be assaulting a few other projects.

In this fantastic video I show that fabric glue is your friend. I might also mock vertically challenged people that might also be horizontally challenged. I apologize if you fall into one, or both, of these categories. Thank you for checking out the videos. I hope they help if you are planning on doing something like this. Later, Andy

Here is the 2nd thrilling video of me stitching up my DCUs. Here you will learn valuable tid-bits like....don't stitch the pocket, and, hear me admit that I'm a n00b. Please check back often. Hopefully I can pass on a few trick's to help you sew up your own RAID mod'd uniform. Thank's, Andy
I’ve got a crye g3 field multicam, I plan on adding attach points for 3D mesh like phantom leaf’s new taipan jacket, do you think it’s gonna work?
Good Morning! Great question. If you take your time, I think you could do it. Keep in mind that it might look good laying on the table or on a hanger, but it might not be comfortable to wear. Maybe just tack it in place and see how it fits (does it allow full range of movement). Good Luck!!
@@GAandy will do, thanks for the feedback!
You were checking out young boys on Facebook and then ACTUALLY messaged said younger individual? Just wow bro.
Random feed recommendation wins again. Nice vid
Hey thanks for the view and comment! Definitely an older vid. I plan on doing more in the near future. Have a Great weekend!
I dont have a sewing machine I had to do all of this by hand 😅😅😅
Hey there. YUP! hand stitching is how I started. Heavy needle and needlenose pliers.
2 to 2.5" is good - 3" of you're large [ 6' 4" Defensive End Types ] but FOLLOW outside the nearest stitch line .. this will keep fraying to microscopic levels, which creates a nice fuzzy / blurred edge to assist with concealment .. not all Boonies are perfectly symmetrical, so follow along the outside edge of a chosen stitch line rather a 2 - 2.5" measured distance .. also, if you're Active Duty, you'll have to be careful, as some officers can be real d-heads .. the best option is to carefully remove the brim edge [ the piece that's doubled over ] and then re-stitch it back on after you've trimmed the brim .. you'll have to shorten it a bit to match the smaller diameter, but of you're conservative on the amount of brim that you remove [ start with maybe 1" to 1.5" removal ] and re-stitch the brim-lip back on with the same stitch pattern, most Officers are too f'ng stupid to know ..
Hey! Thank You for the comment. That sounds like a pretty good way to go. I just learned about putting a paperclip in the brim to help give shape and keep it from flopping over your eyes or blocking an optic.
Good song
LOL.....some of my vid's got flagged for the music in the back-ground. I think that might be why the sound goes in/out? Thanks for checking out my video. I'll be doing more!
question Does DCU Raid mod tunic and ACU UCP Pants and Multicam look good
Hey there. Good question. I saw a few SOF types mix-n-match during my time in. Depending on the terrain, it could help break up your shape. The UCP issued in 2004 was crap and ended up really bleaching out in the desert.
What was the point? Is the Molle lighter than the Alice frame?
Good Afternoon. The point, was mostly to see if I could do it. The MOLLE frame is more comfortable than my older ALICE frame. I also felt it could handle being tossed from a truck better (ALICE had a habit of bending). I also really like the adjustability with the shoulder straps and the kidney pad.
Boy this is a long shot. But if you are still around. How do you remove the pockets from the top?
Good Morning, Carefully! Lol... I used a little tool called a seam ripper. Be careful not to stab through your top or finger. Pretty easy to remove the pocket. The bar tacking can be a PITA though. Good Luck!
@@GAandy Cool. Thanks for responding!
Can this mod be done with ripstop fabric ? What fabric are your BDUs made of? Gonna do this too ! Thanks for uploading it , even 10 yrs later it's useful
@@m07c Hey, Good Afternoon. Yes. The woodland BDU's were ripstop. My stiching is crap, but they are one of my favorite uniforms to wear. So glad I could help!
@@GAandy fantastic. Just ordered rip stop proper BDUs in woodland and this will be the first thing I do with them . Thanks again for the content
For the shoulder pockets did you use for them?
Hey @Mark Taxdal, not sure I understand your question. The shoulder pockets were originally the top breast pockets from the blouse. I then moved the lower front pockets up to the chest area. If you were asking what I used them for, in airsoft I keep a "Dead Rag" in one. I have it tied off to one of the button holes. For large games that have different "ID" cards, I would keep those in the pockets as well. I hope this helps.
I hate the fact that you have to sew it on
Yep. And I suck at sewing.
What happened to tho Audio
I think I had some music playing in the background..... copyright issue? Sound deleted 🤦
holy fuck what a nice loadout, how about a follow up to this kit 2021 version?
Hey! Thank You for the the comment. I still most if not all of that kit. Now that I will have more free time, I think I should do more vid's. Maybe details on what I have and why I set it up a certain way?
@@GAandy yo,a little years late but glad you are back, and yeah, more vids about gear would be cool
Dude, im reenacting a 2000s seal loadout and your videos saved my life, thanks!
Hey there. Hope this helped. How did it turn out?
This worked better than I expected it to. My brim is a much better length now. Thanks!
You're very welcome. Glad it worked out. Take care
no sound....
yeah....got dinged for having music playing...."Copyright...", so I tried to edit it out....now, no sound.
sound comes back on at 4:25
Great vid.. I really like the mods!
Thanks! I still need to add all the MOLLE to it. This is just a project...something to do...so it's just sitting in the garage right now.
Keep that plastic gun handy in case the zombies attack. Lmao
Do you have a direct link to the pockets on the website? I can’t find them for my life. Thanks
John Ham...Thanks for the interest! All pockets were actually taken from the uniform itself. All I did was remove them then reattach where I wanted. If you are referring to the Velcro that I used, I was actually at Ranger Joe's, and asked one of the people working in the sew shop if I could purchase some of the Velcro. If you have more questions, let me know.
GAandy Thanks for that quick reply! That answers my question. Gonna throw a DCU early 2000ish Navy EOD load out for Airsoft. Thank you, and good luck to you and your future endeavors!
Man if I had s nickel for every time I wore my pants not bloused lol, especially during field problems I'd be toast by now 😂
Truth. Doing this little MOD makes it so easy to keep them looking right. I hated the green elastic ones.
Thanks for sharing. Ill do this with my roadeavour as well.
You're welcome. I hope it works out for you.
I also modified my BDU and it looks fantastic.
Glad you like it and that yours turned out great as well.
It did. Little bit different than yours. The chest pocket are angled into inside, most of the buttons were removed for velcro, the shoulder pockets are more ACU style. My uniform was actually a copy of BDU made by Helikon in OD. Next thing I'm planning to do is to modify classic woodland BDU into SFU pattern.
I did a set of my Issued ACU's with the chest pockets angled out. Makes it much easier to get into them while wearing armor.
I'm a beltkit fan, but sometimes I wear some kind of armor. The chest pockets are pretty much useless for me in this configuration but it's juzt my opinion. The shoulder pockets is a must have.
what kind of thread do you use? polyester?
I honestly can't remember. I think it might have been nylon or polyester. I just wanted something that would be strong enough but didn't have to be "bullet proof". I'm pretty sure I picked it up at Walmart.
Thanks. I've got both Nylon and Polyester, both fairly high quality so I'm sure it will do the job!
It should. I hope you have more skill than I do. Just take your time and plan out what you are going to do. I also used fabric glue to hold stuff in place before I stitched it up. Best of luck
a man after my own heart! good stuff. have you seen the triangular molle frame for the assault pack? i am told it works well with a medium alice. if you get bored (real bored)go look at my frankenpack series. ruclips.net/video/x8R2GIkSKSk/видео.html
Yes Sir I did see one of those frames. I had no clue what it was for, but, GOOGLE was my friend. It was pretty cheap but I didn't get it. I had no use for it at the time. I had the MOLLE frame sitting around for over a year before I found the time ( and courage) to cut it up. The frame is now on a TT MALICE 2, and I love it. I watched the entire frankenpack series. Very nice. I still have my Large ALICE from this vid. Unfortunately, I have not done any other work on it. No real time. I'd like to add a storm flap like my TT ruck, as well as maybe some kind of floating lid/flap that I could keep centered on top if the bag is ever stuffed full. I'd also like to redo the MOLLE on the top flap. So many ideas. So little time (right now). Take Care
That ridiculous brim keeps more sun off of me when I'm fishing for 10 hours. I look for the wider brims. Question, why do the special operators trim it? Better vision? I heard its to break up the sharp outline of the brim.
For me, I found that the wider brim, when in the rain, will flop down too far in front and block my vision. As the cut material frays, it also helps to break up the outline.
there is a gun next to the boonie...hahah...murica
I usually insert something hard between the sleeves and just sew normally
You're very welcome Art. Thanks for the view.
Hey, GAandy, Art here. Thanks for the post. Real informative. I just finished shortening my older tiger stripe boonie. I brought it down to 1 3/4" so it mimics the early advisor hats worn in 'The Green Berets'. After I trimed the hat, I re-attached the whip cord around the brim to give it a 'factory' look. I also removed the foilaige band from around the crown because I've read the early boonies didn't have them. Thanks again and keep posting!
Some of our guys during OIF 1 were doing this to their DCUs. I was in 3/327th 101st AB at the time. I couldn't believe we were authorized to do so, but that was also before they made the entire country Garrison.
Be ready. We're coming for ya. ;) Fellow Leg. Banshee 7
Banshee 7? 1sg for B Co, tan? Hope to see you all there. Thanks for your Service.
Roger. Can't wait. You as well!
I picked up the velcro at RANGER JOES in Columbus, GA, just outside Ft. Benning. You can also find it pretty cheap at supplycaptain.com Best of luck with your project.
Where'd you get the velcro? More specifically the BDU color?
Hey Schaz42...I apologize for the late (VERY late) reply. I picked up the velcro at Ranger Joe's just outside Ft. Benning, GA. You can also get it online at SupplyCaptain.com.
VERY NICE VID !
Wow! Apologies for the tardiness. Thank You! I'm planning on making more in the future. I just need to get the sewing machine repaired....and maybe some lessons on how to actually use it. LOL
You should have used the Banshee Kangaroo Mag Insert for a total of 12 Mags lol.
Instead of the TT 3 mag shingle? I have some custom single mag pouches that secure with velcro that I could try. I might just give them a try.
GAandy I was joking because the Banshee can fit a mag insert behind your TT 3 Mag Shingles. It would just give you a ridiculous amount of mags.

No. The rear flaps are still there. They were just tucked in. I have seen the choc-chip/popcorn pattern before, just not very often.

Did you remove the button flap on rear pockets? Have you seen any chocolate chip DCU? How about Med-Reg?
