At 2:28, it looks like your Waymo did a left turn from S McClintock Dr on to E Broadway Rd (where the Burger King comes up on the right, just after the Waymo turned left). Yeah, that puts you about 1 mile east and 2 miles north of where a Waymo bizarrely drove on the wrong side of the road on around 5/1/2024, going directly into oncoming traffic, northbound, on S. Rural Rd. What are your thoughts on that? Are your ready to spend $13 for the Waymo to possibly get you in a head-on collision? I know their driving system is pretty good, but I didn't like their response to that crazy incident (even though, thank goodness, it didn't end in an accident). They made no public statement, except to try to contact the video poster via DMs in an apparent attempt to get that video off the internet. What the heck happened and why was a Waymo driving into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road for about 8 seconds? It's hard to tell, but their Waymo team would know best of course. One serious possibility is that it was an insane contortion of a maneuver it can do to pass unloading vehicles by driving on the wrong side on what should be small neighborhood streets, but it was performing that maneuver on a 7-lane road (S. Rural Rd) loaded with rush-hour traffic, just north of the I-60 interchange and dangerously disregarding all drivers waiting in front of it and behind it. Yeah, definitely AZ state investigators should be asking the Waymo about that incident and similar ones as part of an investigation.
