Couldn't you have extended this for another few seconds for Scheider's "No"?

They certainly don't make films like this anymore. This and the likes of towering inferno were epics regardless of cgi...a truly bygone era.

I love that even though the tank explosion is slightly unrealistic, the build up to it is not. Brody dosnt just hit it first try, like a lot of cliched action films, it takes him a while to do it. Also, love how the shot that blows up the shark was his last bullet. Still my favorite movie of all time.

Thank you. I’m a big fan of David Lean, so I wouldn’t buy an unrealistic figure of Alec Guinness.

If the 1st sequel of JAWS had Martin Brody meeting some police officers from the mainland and they heard that he had been face to face with a killer shark and destroyed it before the boat belonging to Quint, who was hired by Brody to kill the shark, would've been honored to meet the Amity Island Police Chief and they would want to shake his hand.

Kinda funny that in real life brody's plan wouldn't have worked. If someone shoots at a gas tank, it will cause a leak, but needs a spark to ignite. Bullets only have a spark when they are shot, not when they reach their target. Not to mention that tank was underwater so...

OMG, why does his voice drop when he shoots the final shot? What is going on there? It's bugged me for 30 years. Anybody?

Notice out of 6 shots it only took 3 to kill the shark, shots 1 and 2 he misses, and the 3rd one he hits the shark and the 4th one he misses and the 5 shot he hits the shark again and the 6th shot the one that blows the tank is what matters the most so shots 3,5, and 6 are the ones that matter the most and counted when it mattered the most
