A San Carlos Native born & raised here had published a book about his experiences living in the neighborhood. Book was released in the late 80s/early 90s (I believe that was the era). It is titled "There Goes The Neighborhood." Awesome video

living in San Diego over 40's the city has changed a lots but still loving it lolz
My family used to live in this area. Sadly my grandparents sold their home back in the 2000s and we were renting in an apartment. We no longer live in this area and moved off state when the recession hit. Last place I lived was in golfcrest right across from the Cotijas and Cowles Mountain

My grandparents had a house in San carlos for 33 years on golfcrest.. spent many summers there from the late 80s to early 2000s..

You forgot to mention one of the biggest cons...the taxes. Minnesota ranks 8th in the nation for having the highest taxes. They will also tax your retirement income/Social Security, which does not make it a retirement friendly place to live.
I've been to Ramona, and I would not consider it a rural community. It's suburban at most. I live in Montana where true rural living is at! Ramona is pretty cool though!
Ramona is very rural for Southern California
If you have to commute, then fly an airplane. Much faster than taking the clogway.

How about Pacific Beach or Little Italy for city living?
Both have different vibes. Little Italy is probably more of the true city living most people think of. Pacific Beach is definitely city but more of a laid back beach vibe too.

If you can afford to live in San Diego, and you like it, why would you want to move to Minnesota??? High taxes, high cost of housing for "flyover country", crime, horrible climate, weird passive aggressive people.

I’d consider St Louis Park or Hopkins! Or even the North Loop in Minneapolis which will be more urban but it’s the city. SLP is a great though! Let us know if we can help in any way 💪🏻
