Schlock Talk Ep16 ~ Streets of Vengeance
Solid points until the Anne Hathaway bit lol to each his own I suppose. Intro rocks great job guys can’t wait to hear more!
Thanks Neal! Throw down some movie questions and we will be sure to include them in the next episode!
I said that Frederick Wiseman's TITICUT FOLLIES is about an hospice, but it's actually about a mental institution - in particular, a state prison for the criminally insane at Bridgewater, Massachusetts. In Portuguese "hospício" means mental institution, that's why I called it hospice.
Not as good as Mortal Kombat Annihilation
So Siegel is a phony it turns out.
Since I haven't seen "Short Cuts" yet, I stopped halfway through this video. However, I really enjoyed listening to you two talk about movies in general!👍👍
Whoop go Siegel
YESSS SIEGEL GANG 🤑👌😁
Siegel rocks
Thank you Joey this will be the next movie me and the lady watch on date night now
Hell yes! Do it!!
I concur that days of future past is the best and I also thought this was overrated
Fuck ..shit .4 vedio shake. Fkkrr
Hi! I met you in letterboxd (I am mysteriis666 xd) I would like you to make a video of nosferatu from 1922, it is one of my favorite films and I want to know what you think, thank you (my English is bad sorry)
Thanks for the request! I will be sure to watch and review the original Nosferatu for our next show!
wow great podcast! Very underrated channel, I subscribed
Thanks for following me over from Letterboxd and checking out the show! I will give you a shoutout on the next episode in a few weeks. Feel free to submit some questions for us to talk about on the show if you would like. Take care!

I like the idea of giving back to our subscribers, but I would like to do it as a contest. Tune into part 2 of our Season 2 finale for a chance to win a 50 dollar Amazon gift card.
Thank you so much for this!!!
You're quite welcome my friend, and thank you for checking us out! We both really appreciate it!
You both picked up an excellent variety of movies! Rosemary's Baby is a beautiful edition. One of my very first Criterions. I also got the Three Colors, I am very excited to check them out. Such a beautiful set. Great companion piece to Dekalog, which I really like.
Thanks so much for checking our video out! I am very curious to see that '45 Years' film you mentioned. I also have 'Breaking the Waves', and it is one of my favorites! Take care!
Thank you so much for watching the video, I'm really happy that Justin got me to watch Three Colors, I think you'll enjoy them! I need to check out Dekalog!

Hi what the difference between blu ray and not cuz one is 93 minutes and one 97 minutes run time
That I'm not sure of tbh
I bought dvds in London when I went to visit and none of them play on any of my DVD players when I came back to the US. I got mean girls on blu ray here in the US tho 😛
Money. Well. Spent.
Lols glad you think so my dude. This was a fun one to do, so thank you!
so much better than the one I just got, about to upload it now
I ordered mine! From United Kingdom’s Amazon but I don’t think my American PS3 will be able to read it 😂
From my understanding you can change the settings to read Euro Blu Rays but then it won't read American region blu rays
Average Joe_e ohh!! Update: just download multiman and go into settings to change the region and it’ll read! So cool, I can’t wait to try it when my anniversary edition of Mean Girls comes in!! The package feels like it’s taking so long 😭 but it is being imported from the UK
Oh nice. My roommate got a region free blu ray player for Christmas! We busted into the Arrow Oldboy box set! The mean girls set is so cool, you're going to love it!
I have a region b set of heroes on Blu-ray and it plays fine on my Xbox one
@@Medlock5704 nice. I'll have to try mine in my X
I need to call my mother. I'm in the credits of a RUclips video. Hi mom! Also the Ghost Busters double pack is the winner in my book. I thought there would be no contest, but that Korean Wizard of Oz is a close second.
Haha! Yeah you're internet famous now boi!! And yeah those we're both solid
Ahh, 'The Holiday' is a decent Christmas movie. At least watch the part with Jack Black in the Blockbuster video.
It probably is but it my friend's wife got really mad we were all shit taking Cameron D's acting in it so she turned it off lols
Shut up a-holes
Erik Hughes, thanks for you comment! I feel really bad about the name mix up but nice catch, sometimes doing things off the cuff we make mistakes. Clearly I made a couple here lols. As far as yojimbo/sanjuro I am fairly certain that Dollars is a remake of Yojimbo, to the point that Kurosawa wrote Sergio Leone a letter about it from my understanding, I could be mistaken. About Yatoichi, I did totally muff that by using the term Samurai movie to mean Japanese guy with a sword and having never seen them before I just used a general term. Again my bad! Godzilla as Spine #1000, ofc I defend it, what else is gonna be 1000? Unless they re obtained the rights to Citizen Kane or got Casablanca its gotta be Gojira imo. Plus that box set is doooope! I'd love to get to a film expo/festival at some point, there really aren't any near me that I know of sadly. Look forward to hearing more from ya in the future!
Some nice picks there - but it's Anthony Michael Hall in "Weird Science"; Michael C. Hall is the guy from "Dexter" and "Six Feet Under". I had to laugh because the ad for Arrow was for a release of "A Fistfull of Dollars", which is the Italian (NOT "American", but a "Spaghetti Western" produced by Italians and shot in Spain, directed by Sergio Leone) re-make of "Sanjuro", which was what you unwrapped next! "Zatoichi" is NOT a 'Samourai' - he is a blind masseur who happens to be a deadly swordsman who acts as a protector of the down-trodden in the Edo period, where Samourai and powerful family clans wielded their power rather unfairly. I wish I had that set! And thank you for sticking up for Criterion's choice for spine #1000; I can't stand cinema snobs (like the ones who don't think John Waters films belong in the collection, or "Salo"). I don't go to film festivals anymore because I have to cringe whenever anybody says something like, "Oh, no... I don't DO horror!" Happy film viewing!

I enjoyed this episode. Good choice of films to cover and I like the idea of the movie club. By the way, how does one get 2,000+ followers on Letterboxd? Any tips?
Thanks so much for listening and commenting Mark! When it comes to accumulating a following on Letterboxd I have used a combination of posting often and seeking people out. For example, after posting a review of a movie I will often check out what others have posted about it, and I will like their reviews and occasionally comment. It took some time, but it has been great being a part of such a large community of movie lovers. I will be sure to give you a shout out on our next episode. Take care!
