Depends on what you mean by "authentic". If you think blacksmiths didn't source good steel to hammer on, then I'm not sure what you think they did because they sure didn't mine it themselves. As for grinders or drills, it's doing much the same work as a hand file or drill but faster. I take flintlock building courses from professional builders and one thing comes up a lot: "If the old boys had the technology we do, they would have used it". After all, they were paid by the piece, not how much they sweat doing it. That being said, I can appreciate things doing more traditionally AKA, "the hard way" but modern tools and modern steels are leagues better than what the old days had to offer. So that being said, as long as the blades coming out are of traditional form and function, I'm not sure what else you would want. Especially the steel. My god, modern 5160 compared to steel made over 100 years ago?

I don't have a kukri house knife, its a kailash blades, but I am very happy with its performance. An excellent design brought from a traditional form. Nice to see them here, made in the same manner from spring steel.

Sooo, nobody notices the $8,000 milling machine, the $20,000 power hammer, $2,000 anvil, the large amount of inventory in background lol... the sudden change from a full tang to a hidden tang etc... yeah.. if you think these guys are really ysing a 20lb sledge as an anvil and what you're being shown as their process you're a sucker lol.
