If we ignore what we want to be true and focus on what we may actually discern from the text, The righteousness in King of Righteousness is most likely simply the overall concept, rather than a reference to any specific deity. It is similar to saying King of Truth, or King of Honesty. That later authors chose to interpret the name differently and even apply it to Jesus, is not evidence that their preference is valid. There is even a theory that the name, in its original form, meant 'my king is Zedek' where Zedek was a Canaanite god. This doesn't fit with how later biblical authors used the name Melchizedek but we cannot be sure if they too reinterpreted from it's initial form for their own purposes.

James does indeed give us great confirmation of the resurrection. Through the gospels James along with Jesus’ other half-brothers do not believe in him. They think he’s nuts. The martyrdom of James is also a historical event confirmed outside the New Testament. In Josephus (1st century Jewish Historian) Antiquities he confirms that James, brother of Jesus(who they call the Christ) was stoned James goes from denying Jesus as the Messiah to Dying for him as his Resurrected Lord. The Resurrection of Jesus, and him appearing to James is the only thing which logically could have changed James’ mind and led him to a certainty concerning who Jesus is. A radical change in the disciples is also seen post resurrection. Pre-resurrection Peter denies that he knows Jesus. Post-resurrection, willing to die for him. Those then exposed to the resurrection of Jesus completely changed in boldness. In cases of James & Paul we see radically changed worldviews.

This is one of the most powerful sermons you’ve ever preached. It should be repeated in the future. ❤️👌✝️👌❤️

I love this series. When Judis betrayed Jesus I don’t think he really believed that Jesus would be killed. When he realized Jesus was going to die & what he had done he tossed the silver away, wept & hung himself.

This is an interesting thought on that verse. I was always taught that John saw the wicked being destroyed & that made him happy, it was sweet but when he digested or saw the amount of people & the devastation it made him sad. It became bitter in his stomach. 😀🍯 😢🤮

I think Satan was cast out of heaven after the testing of Job. Prior to that the Bible states that Satan entered the presents of God. After that testing, war broke out in heaven & no place was found for him & the demon angles.
