Heyho! Glue on what? After all I had to replace the motien and it solved the problem. Another problem was that they glued the knob on the pots. One pot was broken so I had to destroy all other pots the get the knobs off. Beside the gorgeous sound it's not much fun repairing these. God grief I build my own stuff in the meanwhile.

@@timpanic Hey, I didn't mean to say “glue”, but rather that I used a power supply with an 18V 1A output to power the MOTIEN V7-1218D12, and when I powered up the 5043 with this power supply, I had a few initial pops that could have been due to capacitor stabilization or minor fluctuation during the first power-up cycle. Since then, the unit has run more smoothly at the correct voltage. Sorry to hear they've started sticking buttons on pots.... Nevertheless, it's a fantastic device that adds a lot to a mix or recording. Wish you lots of fun building your own. Cheers

@@timpanic I have one a real musician gave me. It, the complaint was, if I recall aright, tape speed was off. Everything is pristine but PLAY or RECORD gets a jerk on the reel and then dead. I'll review your video to see how it comes apart; and deal with it.

Thanks for the great comment! Also a nice interpretation! Accually the left hand is the hand of the actor and the right hand is my hand coming in from behind the camera. My interpretation is, that somebody is going to pay somebody for something he did or should do but the deal turns out bad for one of them. But indeed one doesn't know which hands are shown. It also could be the past, the present, or the future.

Hi! Not all shots are wide open. Why should I shoot a landscape scene in daylight wide open? But some scenes with the blurry background are shot wide open. It's not as sharp as a modern lens but sharp enough and very compact with a nice building quality.

Nur Bildschnitt bzw Crop! Kannst du natürlich auch so machen, dass man es gar nicht sehen würde wenn man halt nicht in die Hälften laufen würde, aber hier ging es mir ja auch eher um die originalen Realtime Takes und man kann ja nicht auf alles achten. Ist ja nur ein teures Hobby haha. Bei dem Asturias Track zb sieht man es dann halt gar nicht.

Hi! Nice that you like it. It's played all by me. The synth pad part was played by another guy in my old band. As I remember it was recorded around 1999 and I tracked drums and stuff with the 488 Tascam 8 track and tracked the rest with my old terratec sound card in cakewalk.

Yeah that's the hardest issue of these machines. Can be the motor, the caps on the Speedboard or the overall condition of the Capstan drive. Nostalgia is not a cheap hobby when you're into tape :)

Exactly. Also a lot of non-liveband computer music based producers use only one channel at a time these days. The famous "big console but only fader one and daw return are up" phenomenon:😂 I had some requests from hiphop producers who also want to use their big analog collection without the console hazzle so I developed this thing.
