the 7800 xt or the 7900 gre both work amazing and will (if I'm not mistaken) preform better than the 4070 super. If you get AMD just make sure to install and run a driver uninstaller before downloading the new drivers.

If you just want pure performance for games where you are competitive go for amd but if you want the fancy stuff that comes with nvidia to make your game look really good then go with nvidia

I have a 6600xt. I’d recommend going with AMD because nvidia has been getting a little full of themselves and making their prices artificially high. I think you should probably go with the older generation though: a 6900xt or a 6800xt. AMD drivers take a while after release to become good. 6000 series is pretty good but I’m still unsure about the 7000 series drivers. You’ll also get similar performance out of a 6900xt to what you would from a 7800xt. Since you have an AMD processor as well, you would be able to use AMD smart access memory. Basically it makes it so instead of the extra fast ram in the gpu being reserved just for the gpu, the processor can use it too. The only thing I would consider nvidia for is that their software and features are objectively better and since you already have nvidia drivers, switching your system to amd drivers will be doable but tricky (unless you’re planning to do a clean windows install on a new ssd.). All in all, I recommend amd’s cards and you’ll get a lot more performance for the price. A good tool to use for comparison is userbenchmark. You can compare how any gpu does against any other gpu in the same tests to see what will get you the best performance for price. I got really into all this stuff a few years ago and this is a lot of what I learned. Hope this helps!
