Anemond presents Sloom - Extreme Timestretcher
Free demo: anemond.net
Introducting Sloom , a new VST/AU plug-in and standalone application by Anemond. Sloom is a timestretcher with a spectral shape module. It can stretch your sound to extremely long durations, creating slowly evolving sound textures. In addition to a collection of timestretching algorithms, Sloom includes a spectral shaping and modulation section to further manipulate the resulting texture, and to avoid producing static sounds when extremely high stretching factors are used. It can operate on both audio files and real-time audio input.

Anemond presents Factoid 2
Просмотров 16 тыс.8 месяцев назад
get it here: anemond.net Factoid is a lightweight music plug-in and standalone application that lets you remix and randomize any audio clip. Sharing the same machine learning decomposition engine than Factorsynth, it decomposes any sound into a set of layers that can be manually remixed, muted or randomly shifted in time to remix or to change the temporal structure of the clip. Create new drum ...

A very cool plugin with a lot of potential, had a lot of fun with the demo. But there is one thing that is cruelly missing from this plugin that is stopping me from buying it: no pitch control. This seems like an essential feature to me. Any plans to add it in a future update?
I bought FactorSynth from Isotonik a few years ago. Is there a crossgrade to Factoid available?
I like the effect of spectral modulation combined with the position jitter! You probably won't agree with this, and it's probably something you already thought of and rejected, but on the off-chance that this isn't the case I have a suggestion. I think this plugin would have a lot more uses if you made the 1x-10x range cover a lot more of the dial. I understand that you're focussed on ultra-long textures primarily, but it seems strange to ignore the possibility that users might want traditional ranges of timestretch too. The user is far more likely to want accurate settings in the 1x-10x range whereas accuracy isn't so important above that, but your marks are equidistant around the wheel in jumps of ~0.40x. The user can't even choose to type in a number. For me, I would prefer it if 10x and lower had more of the dial with jumps in that range of 0.25x (so that it would be possible to hit 2.0x, 2.5x, 3.0x etc.) and then bigger jumps for the higher range.
I love my sloom
Goddamn it sounds good - youre like a more serious/majestic Polyverse. Often with plugins like this, the feature alone is valued more than that the sound output sounds good, and is interesting - but youve circumvented that i see. I’ll definitely buy this whenever i have the pocket change! Any more plugins coming up?
You guys are awesome! Been checking out Sloom too!
Video doesn’t show much of anything… 🤷♂️ I’ll never understand these useless minute long vids for plugins that hardly show anything… didn’t see any walkthroughs on RUclips, so I’ve no idea what this thing even does.
Do you have any plans to add a pitchbend and reverse?
Wow, I want to hear that demo track standalone! Would love to buy it somewhere ;)
Really cool, just a heads up, your website doesn’t work on iphone with chrome browser.
i just got this, still trying to figure it out - - this video is jammed with ideas thanks! external effects are sick
Hi, it would be interesting to know something about the 5 different algorithms available. Thank you.
there is a short description in the manual: anemond.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/sloom_manual.pdf hope that helps!
@@anemond ok Thanks
But can it stretch to the BPM?
Finally an real alternative to paulxstretch! Hyped!❤
So glad I looked at my RUclips recommended videos today! Your products seem awesome, instantly subbed! Looking forward to demoing everything!
Was looking forward to trying/buying this...but the demo 'disk image' (.dmg) states 'no mountable file systems' on both my 10.9.5 and 10.11.6 machines?
please send an email to hello@anemond.net and we'll look into it
Hi! Congratulations on this new sound object! Is there a loyalty price? That's a question, not a request : )
thanks! sorry, we haven't planned a discount plan yet, other than the student discounts
@@anemond no problem !
Is there any algorithm value you brought into this product compared to PaulXStretch?
PaulXStretch is awesome! In Sloom you can choose between 5 different stretching algorithms, and maybe more importantly there is a spectral shaping and modulation section to graphically modify the spectrum of the stretched sound in real time.
I remember a developer announcing an extreme stretch plugin but couldn’t remember who. Then I see your video and remember why I was excited-your algos and UI approaches are so excellent. Instant buy!
thanks so much! hope you like it
Paul Stretch - but this is is on steroids
Does it work with live input?
yes, it can work with both live input and files (live input is not supported on Logic Pro though)
@@anemond Oh, bummer! Any reasons why?
@@No.17TypeS Logic Pro accepts plug ins that can either process live input (effects) or that can generate sound (instruments), but unfortunately it doesn't accept plug-ins doing both. So for Sloom we had to choose to support either live input or file-based playback for Logic Pro and we reckoned the latter was the main use case and ended up packaging it as a "software instrument" for Logic Pro. We'll be listening to user feedback during these first days after release and might change that. An alternative would be to ship 2 different versions for Logic Pro (effect and instrument), but we don't love that solution for now...
@@anemond "Live" would be be my preferred use case for this plugin, so +1 for the two versions one for instrument and one for FX - I have a number of other plugins that have and instrument and FX versions, so is quite a common solution
@@PhilShrimpton thanks, feedback seems to be heading in this direction!
Does this support midi triggering slices?
No. Factorsynth supports this but not Factoid. It's a popular feature request though, so it's likely it will be added to upcoming versions.
A breathtakingly creative tool to use. Indispensable to my workflow!
How! The fuck did i get here!?
wow subscribed
Nice... but the question is, what sort of copy protection do you use? There's no mention on the website. I might add, yes, it is important. My DAW doesn't get involved with the internet, nor do I use 3rd party computers for activation purposes.
it uses activation based on a product key. You can do the activation online or offline. For offline activation, you save an activation file to your local machine that you can then upload to a webpage once you're online (from the same or any other machine)
Wow that sounds fascinating
Excellent!
This update looks very cool. Loading it up now.
Very nice both Factorsynth & Factoid really fantastic plugins can't recommend them enough.
omg the Export dragging feature is incredible
What a cool surprise. Really sharp, clean visuals, too. Out of curiosity, was this programmed in JUCE?
thanks! Yes, it's made with JUCE
really great update!
Such a sick plug-in.
One of the greatest plugins ever. This video doesn’t do it justice. The possibilities are endless
thanks so much!
Wonderful !
