Hands down one of the best educational videos for students or for review for those who have trouble with landings or just as off season refresher. Thank you and well done.

From the old days. The count used to be thousand and one thousand and two etc. so that the jump master saw the Pilot chute appear at the number, say 5 on a five second delay. The count was corrupted through the years so that the count was reversed. So now the witness will see the pilot chute appear at the word “thousand” bastardising a good system.

4:49 That person was thrown away from his main canopy and ended up in a flat spin. Very disorienting to a beginner.

As simple as all of this is to an experienced jumper, it can easily be overwhelming to a beginner in a panic mode, leading them to doing the wrong thing or doing nothing at all.
