The update is horrible. They used to have warm and inviting rooms now they are devoid of character and look like any soulless chain. At least the outside is still nice.

We've stayed there multiple times. It's a pretty easy walk to the park and, to be honest, I've slept better at the Alpine then I have at far more expensive hotels, including the Springhill across the street. It's a pretty comfy place. No frills...and that's fine.

Even before the renovation, the Candy Cane Inn was always our go to. It was always clean, the staff stellar, and you can walk or ride to DLand.

Did you take this video on April 18 (the day prior to posting)? I think my kids were the ones dancing just out of frame, to your right, who the guitar player is sometimes playing directly to (he's a sweetheart and got to know my kids this year - they're big Pirate Band Appreciators and we must have seen them forty times between January and May). I think I can hear myself catching one who got a little out of control early in the video and we're the ones clapping on Whiskey in the Jar! How cool to find this video.
