Cuánto se ha dicho y se dice acerca de la "frialdad de los germanos". Puede que hayan tenido malas experiencias con gente de ese pueblo o simplemente repiten algo que se ha instalado sin saber realmente o peor sin observar detalles como esta obra por ejemplo, solo por mencionar una. Para este entonces el genio ya padecía su sordera, alguien puede si quiera imaginar la sensibilidad que hay que tener para crear esta maravilla, y digo maravilla porque no se si hay una palabra para definir lo que transmite. Y Herbert...un espectáculo de arte y amor aparte, sus gestos, como lleva a la Orquesta, casi siendo un instrumento más, fluyendo con las sonoridades...Terrible! Nota: yo estuve en Alemania y me trataron con mucha calidez, no son melosos ni toquetones pero de "fríos" no tienen nada.

The Vienna horn sound is quite different to the sound I associate with eastern Europe. Does it really matter which is the more "authentic"?

I note that the wind players don't throw themselves about as they do in some orchestras; is this a Viennese tradition?

You can tell watching him conduct this piece that his back is so bad he can hardly move yet his determination is undiminished

Heard him and the VPO perform this piece in Vienna in January 1988...I was in tears at the end of the first movement...on a total high by the 4th movement....

A couple days ago, I couldn't listen to this beautiful symphony conducted by one of my favorite conductors due to some technical issues on RUclips. I don't know what you did but now I can listen again to this wonderful composition. God bless you!

これを 聞くと学生時代の混沌としながらもエネルギーを持て余していた頃を懐かしく思い出します。時間がゆっくり流れていました。学問は2番目だった。その後悔から、私は就職してから大学時代やり残した事をやっていた感じがします。仕事しながら大学院へ行ったり国家資格を6つ取りました。第１種放射線取扱主任者の時は自分の限界までやりました。全部1回でパス。生涯の友ができたのが一番の財産かも知れません。経済的に大変だったのに、2人の娘を大学へ入れる事が夢だった両親に感謝しています。当時、女性の大学進学率は10%程度、親戚や地元から結構白い目で見られたと後から聞きました。

Karajan was a fucking Nazi.

A truly magnificent piece and quite possibly the BEST interpretation of this Beethoven movement. Written by a Master......conducted by a Master. To the Berlin Philharmoniker: Par Excellance!!

only Karajan does this...

This is spectacular. I've listened so so many versions of this movement but this one really takes me there.

This has to be one of the most tepid Dvorak 8s I ever heard, and even if you prefer that the reverberant acoustics don't do it any favors.

❤ omg! I listened to this when I was in highschool (1999). At that time, I found the cassette at 'imported section' only, in another city quite far from mine. Yes. it was difficult to find such music back then in my country. Miss it so much! Tq!

Uma efetiva "compreensão" de uma sinfonia pressupõe que o ouvinte está captando e participando da nesma vivência do autor da música. Imagino os sentimentos que habitavam a alma de Dvorak ao compor essa inigualável peça: entusiasmo no mais elevado grau.
