    When was the SOZO developed? I have primary lymphedema. Was diagnosed 10 years ago. I was sent around to various specalist all giving me a diagnosis that once I looked up wasn’t accurate. I felt lymphedema was only fitting one. I ended up having to go to the Cleveland clinic where I spent two days doing what felt like was every type of scan possible on my body. Last one was one which confirmed lymphedema. They injected stuff into my hand and I layed under some scan thing and I could watch whatever these particles were they injected gather into streams and go up into my wrist area. This SOZO would have been so much easier!

    Great video! Amy is an amazing resource. So much of the discussion resonated with me as I had surgery yesterday on Dec. 16th. Managing my expectations and those of others has been a concern. I have only shared my diagnosis with a very few up to this point trying to avoid a lot of the polite conversation. Surgery made me very anxious so now getting past that I am ready to lay out a short narrative to share. I also like to write it down and make art so I have always had a full tool box - though it is often a very private activity. Amy’s suggestions will help me as I write out my story in a way I feel comfortable sharing with my dear circle of friends, neighbors and the artful crew I love. I have felt the need to just “get it together” a bit before inviting the discussion. The anxiety has been that forceful. Thanks for another helpful podcast and Dr. H - I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Bless you. ❤ S.

    I recently spoke with my plastic surgeon about having my implants removed and she explained that it’s not going to look like a guys chest and I might have the dreaded dog ears and I will have loose skin. She didn’t mention aesthetic flat closure. This is the procedure that I want. Currently my implant is deformed and I have a lot of issues with them. Looks like I need to have another talk with my surgeon or seek a surgeon that does the aesthetic flat closure procedure.

    • @deepahalaharvi5917
      @deepahalaharvi5917 10 месяцев назад

      Yes- you need to seek a surgeon who feels comfortable with performing flat closure. Good luck

    Yes- agreed! We respect what women want and it is all about shared decision making. We perform a lot of AFC without redundant tissue.

    Closing up a person neatly after any surgery is just basic respect, like taking your rubbish home after a picnic. I feel like there is an element of punishing women who refuse implants by leaving their chest looking like it was done by a young child with blunt scissors. It's really unprofessional!

    Hello Dr. Cripe and Halaharvi- I am doing my research right now for my upcoming mastectomy- I was just diagnosed with DCIS grade 3, (5-6cm area in left breast) and it was recommended I have a bilateral mastectomy. I don't like either option of implants or going flat, so I am very happy that I found you in my research. I have D size breasts, so hopeful I am a good candidate . I live in Massachusetts, can you recommend any plastic surgeons in my area doing this procedure?

    • @deepahalaharvi5917

      @@deepahalaharvi5917 thank you for your response. My apologies, I do understand you are both breast surgeons, not plastic surgeons. With that said, do you know of any breast surgeons in the Boston area doing this procedure?

    Hi doctors! Great podcast. Thank you for sharing good information. I have 2 questions. 1) I wish you both were in Chicago area. Do you know any good surgeons in Chicago area who can perform similar surgeries with good results? 2) as of now I don’t know if I will need radiation. What kind of change can I expect after radiation on Goldilocks procedure?
