A Solo Hiking Adventure in the south of Snowdonia National Park. This was a beautiful and quiet route, away from the usual chaos of more popular hikes in the area. A quick video on how to use a compact gas stove, with a gas canister filmed on a campsite in Snowdonia. I use the Vango Compact Gas Stove but the MSR Pocket Rocket is very similar. I also run through some extra kit I love to use for a quick breakfast on a lightweight camping trip. Products mentioned include: Tangia Kettle, Snow Peak Mug, MSR IsoPro Gas Adventure Food and Lyons Coffee. This vide...
Hiking 10 Miles on Ingleborough | Yorkshire Dales National Park
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.3 года назад
I decided to try a ten mile hike up Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and it was unbelievable! Charlie came with me and assisted with commentary about acorns.. We had the wonderful mixed bag of British weather and some 'refreshing' Yorkshire breezes. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was absolutely stunning...British hiking and it's very best. It was my first time in ...
thank you! its very helpfull
Glad it helped!
Hi! What size and brand dry bag/stuff sacs do you use in this video?
Great little video. It’s amazing to see how much you can squeeze into a medium sized rucksack. Some experience gear that is light and packs small certainly helps. I do like your dry bags, where did you purchase those please?
I use multiple different bags but the dry sacks from Osprey are good, I hope this helps! www.amazon.co.uk/Osprey-Ultralight-Sack-Unisex-Accessories/dp/B0BKQLWGXL/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=119362398642&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.y2AvyiJF_Yi6I3YQ8FAHW20gxlOJyanT8EUDS777kwBM1ADP-QYpuOhkbAuw5DfQvRChS1Qm8oSX5Z_7IRyAe8_xm6Mts8NR5uEchNgiiJe8tVC0pfcXl_r2sStculwa2fHMEdn2ANJjz6shtx720oGJcCk6KqCHSDdbiHTbVXjBYCFUD57u0LTVjWf_F-X_xyxiOyg-FHdoVdePWA2MSg.RTDnihrIRR19xgb1-EBH0wXw27_0Anat4A_pEvaVeAY&dib_tag=se&hvadid=498448834520&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=1006466&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=17348986333019019654&hvtargid=kwd-300011325787&hydadcr=8641_1818698&keywords=osprey+dry+bag&qid=1718712276&sr=8-3

I think it’s great that you manage to fit all your kit in a 38L pack, you did say for ‘overnight’ so that said, do you use a bigger pack if/when you do multiple nights? For example: A national trail? I only ask as I use the Osprey Atmos 65 AG for all my trips, but want to reduce to a 48L (The Osprey exos 48) which is 700g lighter than the Atmos. I’m confident I can get all my kit in that one as I’ve bought a trekking pole tent which packs down a lot smaller than other backpacking tents. 😊
Yes I reserve the 38l for overnight trips- unless I am sharing the tent- and food can be split with another persons rucksack. I have an Osprey Ariel 65 for longer trips, which I bought before I could afford a lightweight tent! However, it still serves me well, although my preference is always to carry less when I can. The trekking pole tent sounds great, so hopefully you can get on well with your 48l. Happy adventures!!
Did this exact walk two weeks ago , fantastic , great watching your video
Hi Liz. Thanks for a great set up video for your Kyte 36. I am looking at getting same backpack for my 15 year old daughter who finally wants to hike with her father!!!! yeah! Anyway, I am trying to determine whether the Xsmal/Small or Small/Medium would be a good fit for her. After carefully measuring several times, her torso length is 16in for a 5'3" thin framed girl (she is a dancer), would you have any recommendation for which size Kyte 36 would be best?
Best hiking packing video i’ve seen. Thank you so much
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was so very helpful! So this is the 36 liter, can you confirm?
Yes that’s right it’s the 36l rucksack.
@@lizroome2040 Thank you so much for all the information!!!
20% of her body weight is probably 15 lbs.
Hi, can you include /send a link for the waterproof bags you use please. 😀 loved this video ❤

Thanks for the insight so looking forward to this on Tuesday
Hope you have a fantastic walk!
@@lizroome2040 was a great but ran out of steam for the last mile my mate had to get my car and pick me up but was a cracking day
Very impressive. Going to do my first multiday hike soon, and glad to see everything can fit is a small backpack. I am petite, so I prefer smaller packs. Thanks for your advice.
Thank you so much for this. I've just managed to fit my wild camping kit from my 65ltr Kyte into my Gregory Maven 45 thanks to this! My kit is more bulky but in time I'm sure will replace items with lighter options
Hi, im new to your channel and relatively new to backpacking and wildcamping, this video is very helpful, thanks. One question though, what compression sacks do you use please, im guessing they are tried and tested by you. As you are probably aware the market is saturated with different brands of compression sack so im seeking ones that are proven to be good quality ones. Thanks
Great video thanks :)
Very useful. This has given me some food for thought.
Halo liz , come to rinjani mt in indonesia
Nice video! Good gear choices. New follower here. Crow✌️
Just discovered this video. It sure is a stunning place to camp. Got it all to myself back last summer.
Thanks for a very nice video and useful tips. You can also use a dry bag if you need some extra water at the campsite. Turn the bag inside out before filling it with water. Then the inside is still dry when you pack the clothes away again :)
Great tip thank you!
❤️
Excellent, I love your backpack 🥰
Good info. Give me idea how to pack
Great video, a shame about the wind-noise but expertly dubbed 👍. I really appreciated the route at the end! (I wish more people did that). I’m researching Glasgwm for a wild camp, do you remember whether the car park had any overnight parking restrictions?
Thanks! I don’t remember any restrictions in the car park. Having said that it’s a small parking area, so space could be limited.
@@lizroome2040 The car park turned out to be perfect! Small, but with plenty of space (even at the weekend in early August) and with no restrictions. Thanks again for motivating me to go take a look at the Aruns!
Hi Kev , I have used Vango tents for many years now , Great Products .
Hello! May I ask what the weight of your pack was after fully packed roughly? Also do you think it'd be crazy to use this pack for a multiday trek (Tour du Mont Blanc)? I know it's on the small end for sure but I am very small sized (I weigh 39kg)and worried about carrying too much weight
How heavy is your backpack after everything in?
thank you for this very helpful video. I'm just in the process of starting the Mountain Leader Training in August. Never been camping before and so it's helpful to see how easily you can fit everything in to the backpack 😍
So glad it’s helpful!
I'd really appreciate a video showing the weight of a fully packed bag. I always feel like I, or others, may be carrying too much weight.
Homemade Wanderlust says that between 10lbs and 20lbs is a good weight to carry.
Very informative video, good luck with the mountain leader course, its something I'm looking at doing in the future, just subscribed
Liz - sending you well wishes and gratitude from Southern California. Will be camping in Yosemite in a couple of weeks, and your advice has been invaluable. It saved me so much time and so many stumbles. It was like having a good friend advising me in just the way I needed. :-) Appreciate your sharing your love of outdoors and your knowledge! Take care.
So glad you found it helpful. Hope you have a really brilliant time on your trip!
:o
Love it👍
Did Pen y Gent yesterday and looking forward to doing Ingleborough next week. You're a lot happier than our out of shape arses are, but its great from the top onwards
Great! Hope you enjoy it
What a lovely walk. Thank you for bringing us all along. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
What compression bags did you use for your sleeping bag and jacket??
I use the Exped and Osprey dry bags, which fold down and also compress kit. Both are really light weight- and come in lots of colours, so it’s easy to colour code inside your bag if you want to :)
@@lizroome2040 Do you know the size of them?
👍👏👏
Really do want to go hiking in the UK for a couple of weeks sometime. What do you think is the best season for hiking in the UK? Great video!! Love from Sweden <3
Thank you! I love May and June the most, the countryside is teeming with life and the weather’s good. You also get plenty of daylight hours and it’s not yet the school holidays, so less busy! Hope that helps- happy adventures!
@@lizroome2040 Helps alot! thanks :D
I enjoyed your video and have great Day
Thank you!
Nice, simple set up.🤗
Thank you!
Just WOW
You did a fine job making this video. Very cool. 🙂🙃🙂
Thanks for the video. I'm always amazed when I see how people manage to get all their kit in their rucksack. Even for summer 1 night camps i take my old trusty Tesco 65 litre rucksack that I've had since i first got into hillwalking back in 2006. I struggle to fit everything in that so now that I'm hoping to progress to some more winter camping i recently bought an Osprey Zenith 105 litre rucksack. Probably a bit overkill but i got ut on a good deal 2nd hand. I will be using it soon. I will try and get a look at some of your other videos
Thanks so much! Hope you have fun on your new adventures.
@@lizroome2040 thanks Liz. You to ⛰⛰
AAAALLLLL MINEEE 😍😙😙😙😗😗😗
Hi Liz, I wouldn't have believed it possible if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, clearly you are a magician! Perhaps I take too much for my 55L sac and need to slim down, in more ways than one :) I always feel nervous about squashing down too much but clearly you get it to work so that is a good tip. I also like that you had the tent to the top half of the bag rather than dangling off the bottom, in that position not only do you have problems getting through slot & kissing gates but I feel balance is also affected. Overall very well thought out and informative, I will keep an eye out for your next adventure!
Nice vid it's good to pack properly tho having said that it's 1 thing doing it at home another thing doing it on a wet cold windy hillside.i now use a bigger bag makes life so much easier than ramming stuff in like tetras.1 thing I do is put my tent in the bottom zipped compartment then you can pack all your gear in the bag in the tent then just take tent down and put it in last.
Awesome video. Very helpful for those who into hiking and camping. Thanks for sharing dear friend 😍👍🏼
Thank you!
Great informative video. Your subscriber base should grow GROW 😃
