I buy from a few Y-Tubers who have online shops and it would be so nice to get some things from you. The one thing I would have bought that you didn't was the lovely giraffe tea pot. absolutely love value village, one of the only thrift stores near me that still has decent pricing!! i’m wondering if it might be worth while to invest in a wet vacuum for restorations on furniture. might be able to bump the price up a little if buyers know you cleaned and sanitized the piece!

I'm always shocked by the inconsistent pricing of thrift stores. That beautiful ottoman - $16 or a vase for almost the same price LOL! What an absolute score!!

My eye went to that ottoman immediately Sarah! The quality is there and those are rather pricey when you buy new. I would keep it but since you are selling it I think I would have priced it at 150.00. One question: Have you set up your Etsy shop yet? I seem to remember you were about to open it. Thanks!

So glad you got the lovely DR!! It doesn't;t look "orange" at all to me , it's the natural tone of the wood which speaks of its vintage origin. I agree with you that the seat's fabric does not go very well with the style of the DR. I loved/loved the black floral you saw at JoAnne's! The chandelier would also look much more elegant with a bit of bronze or gold paint. It's all looking very nice Sara!

I like using a food grade mineral oil to restore wood that is really dried out. It makes such a difference in bringing out the wood grain.

For garments/curtains/fabrics I normally fill the bath with tepid water and some white vinegar and a tablespoon of Baking Soda. I also pre-treat by sprinkling baking soda on any stains. Soak for a few hours, keeping an eye to make sure no dye bleeds. You will be surprised at how dirty the water gets especially on coats! You may have to do this a couple of times depending on the filth. I think this is called "Stripping". I then rinse the item and then squeeze out excess water before putting it into the washing machine to do a cycle. The Baking soda acts as both a stain remover and deodorizer.

Tip: Always take anything bought second hand that is material, straight to the washer. Throwing it on your bed or sofa immediately may be a bad idea ❤️

Thrifting also usually gives $ to charity. I like to shop where children benefit.

It seems to me that thrift stores as well as GW and Salvation Army are raising their prices w/o considering the condition or the type of item they price. The candle holders look much better in black and I like how you styled them. BTW: Have you re framed the beautiful painting of the lady that looks like you?

I used to love shopping at Value Village but ours closed. I'm going to find the one you were at. Do they still have the bag wall? Love how you painted the candle holder.
