    Oh my god... I got the heeby jeebies a few times when you were riding near the cliff edges! Were you really as close as it looks in the video? I was at Gooseberry Mesa 2 springs ago but didnt ride the south rim trail. I'm going to ride there tomorrow and love riding slick rock! But it looks pretty tricky in some spots. Which rim would you say is the least technical...the North Rim or the South? You're obviously a strong and skilled rider. Thanks for posting your rides!!! Inspiring! Ps: I'll also be recording my ride. I recorded yesterday's ride at Sedona, too. The videos wont be posted for a while though as I have 6 weeks (about 150 GB) of video to edit. Big job!

    Why is this trail rated a black diamond? Is it because of the exposure?

    • @MountainGold

      Honestly I'm not sure since I don't dirt bike although e-bikes aren't allowed so I'm inclined to think gas powered is also banned. There are plenty of trails in the area for dirt bikes since user confrontation would almost certainly be an issue on this trail..

    So, total time it took you to climb them descend? Trail forks says 8 miles... Buuut I haven't done 3 THOUSAND feet up in a day yet! 🤔

    • @MountainGold
      @MountainGold 3 года назад

      If I focused only on the trail probably 5 hrs overall and 1hr descending, I'd have to look it up. I spent a ton of time exploring including a must see fire lookout tower so I'm a bit hazy this being back in April. Living in Colorado I'm very lucky that typical rides consist of 2k feet of climbing at an elevation of 10k so I'm sure people will find it sustained and strenuous.

      Not sure why this isn't a must do trail in Central Arizona since access is either by pedal or scenic shuttle merely 1.5 hours from a major city like Pheonix.

    • @FlowConsciously
      @FlowConsciously 3 года назад

      Whoa doing shuttling?? How rough is the road up for pickups? Or just go pedal it? Thanks for sharing!

    • @MountainGold
      @MountainGold 3 года назад

      @@FlowConsciously I rode it as an out & back from ogden ranch road since a shuttle from my friend (big thanks cheryl) didn't fit into my schedule. The shuttle is a paved road and the one to access trails 28 & 111 is dirt with potential to be rutted due to atv use. If you're in reasonable shape I see no reason as to why you would't ride up at least once considering that relief is in stark contrast to whats available locally.

    • @FlowConsciously
      @FlowConsciously 3 года назад

      @@MountainGold It's on the list! And - not all of us are as conditioned as you in Colorado! (Flagstaff is at 7500 feet - so some may be... but this trail and system are way outside the normal path of riders around here)
