Canal and boat life at Caen Hill lock gates.

Caen Hill lock gates are a sight to behold. It’s not just lock gates and narrowboats! There are plenty of nature trails if you’re feeling energetic and if you just want to relax there is plenty of open space. The cafe,(Caen Hill Cafe)on site is excellent and reasonably priced.Staff are polite and courteous and really helpful! And I can tell you that the food is very good. I strongly recommend C...

Today I explore “The Downs” in Bristol and find travellers not looking after this great nature reserve and community area! You’ll be surprised! I’m all for freedom and van dwellers living their life but please look after nature!

Cotham Hill in Bristol is home to the best coffee shop around! “Coffee and Beer”is in a league of its own. You can enjoy a great coffee or beer with a snack and no one bothers you. Staff and customers are so friendly. A truly magnificent place to be. A special thanks to Dan and Vicky for allowing me to do a short video!

I never said anything detrimental!I admire van life and caravan dwellers and have the utmost respect for them! I was pointing out that there’s no need for them to leave such a mess!we must look after nature! And in the video did you see the part where I said it’s the minority?

Maybe they should be outside you're front door. these people have no where to go. and have no choise whether to live in a van, caravan. You only have to go in to any town and see rubbish on the streets, but you dont mention that. I think its a case of not in my area with you.
All I’m saying is that they should look after the countryside and not dump rubbish. I would welcome them with open arms as long as they are tidy!Did you listen to what was said in the video? Thanks for your comment as it’s good to hear people’s point of views!
@filmingdownsouthuk , seek solutions, please consider contact bristol Council , request them to provide a skip & some rented toilets, & water company will provide water bowsers if asked,

It's only going to become more common. It's not the travellers anymore - it's ordinary people. Governments have been printing money and bailing out banks for 50 years now, so property prices never corrected to proper levels. We all voted for that out of greed, shafting everyone else, especially the younger generations, then patted ourselves on the back, but still forced them to pay tax to maintain our towns and cities. Or got money from banks in remortgages, to force them to rent from us. Also, nobody made a big enough fuss about mass, mass immigration, including dinghies, but we're just thrilled we could get cheap Romanian or Turkish builders, or Arab or African Uber drivers and deliveroo bikes. Cheap labour forcing down wages, inflating rents and property prices artificially. So now, we need to concrete over the island, and let people live in vans or caravans, unless you want to build prisons the size of towns. We made our bed, we lie in it now, and accept the consequences for our own greed and laziness.

It funny how Tory's bang on about market forces until the market moves in a direction that does not suit them. Then they want the government to step in.

Maybe not, but that’s no excuse to litter the countryside and leave a mess. And I did say in the video that I have no problem with them! Most van and caravan dwellers look after nature and their immediate surroundings! It’s just the few that spoil it for everyone! Thanks for the comment,they really do help!

your having a laugh right ..they dont pay tax or anything ..they most likely have more money than you and me put together. the mess they leave where ever they go it ridicules' yet its left for our local councils to clean up using our tax payers money .

Unfortunately for me the mini clubman will always hold bad memories. 1976 sitting in the back the driver took a bend far too fast in the rain. All I remember is waking in the hospital being told I was lucky to be alive. All four people survived. But I always get a chill when I see one. The doggie in the back is so cute though.

Brilliant little cars! That timberwork and chrome trim is awesome! We had a 1960's Mini and in the 1980's we used to get 4 adults, one baby and one pushchair in at the same time. The adults were not small either!😊 Thanks Wayne!
