Hey there! Thanks for visiting my channel as I'm slowly building it up.
Here you can get all sorts of dog training tips and tricks. I follow the Pet Professional Guild and American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's recommendation to use only rewards-based training methods. See their websites to read their position statement on humane training. Current research in animal behavior has shown that using rewards-based methods is an efficient and highly effective way to address "problem" behaviors.

Using a treat train to give a dog medication
Emma didn't like her meds. She "said" they tasted bad. She had a long history of spitting out medications and resistance to taking them. Within one session, she was easily taking her meds using the treat train method.
This method works great for the majority of dogs who've not yet been trained to take medication willingly.
1. Use a very appealing (to your dog) moist food combined with flour to make a dough. I like to use smelly stuff like liverwurst.
2. Make 5 small meatballs. 4 with no med and 1 with it.
3. Line up your meatballs: empty, empty, MED, empty, empty
4. As you hand the first ball to your dog, put your other hand under their chin to keep the head slightly tilted up.
5. VERY rapidl...

I would never give my dog tuna.
That's the beauty of this. You can use whatever ingredients you and your dog prefer. 😊
Thank you for the idea I'm gonna do it!!❤
No problem!!
Thank you. I love making home made treats. The cost of dog biscuits have soared to double digits. These are better for the puppies!
You are welcome
Don’t ever put white shells in!!!! They’re bleached
Great video, thank you, made today, turned out perfect
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow. I need one of those Cool. Thanks
You're welcome 😊
Becareful, not all things we eat are good for dogs. Nothing in the onion family, no seasoning
Absolutely! You definitely want to use dog safe foods. If anyone is unsure, then check with your veterinarian. 😊
Thank you so much I really really appreciate you showing me this recipe. Shop brought dog treats are extortionist for what you get. I’ve subscribed and I’ve given you a thumbs up too
You are welcome!
Thank you! Yes, these are so adaptable to your dog's needs and budget.

Are you possibly Canadian?
No, but I am Minnesotan!
I will NOT give flour to my dogs. I do not consider it healthy at all. Instead I will try almond flour. I do not think , from what I have learned, that grains should be given to dogs at all. Keep in mind glycosphate ( Round- up pesticide ) is part of that issue. I do NOT want just CHEAP. Healthy HAS to ALWAYS be primary. If not, it will bite you later as degenerative disease or allergies and will be blamed on old age or something else. WE need to change our thinking!!!! Bobi - dog in Spain became famous by living until age 30!!!! We are NOT treating our dogs right. Stop falling to what everyone else does, Seek higher. Dogs deserve the BEST we can give
Love it!
Thanks!
Can yogurt be used instead of eggs
I've never used yogurt in place of eggs. If you try it, I'd love if you comment back how it turned out!
what if I wanted to use cookie cutters how much flour and can i use almond flour
I've not used a cookie cutter, but I imagine if you just adjust the flour to make it more playdough consistency it'd work. Almond flour might be too rich for a dog. I'd check with your vet to see if that would be okay to use.
These moles are a excellent thing to love them. I have some myself this thing that was invented. You don't know what you're missing if you don't have these moods? I'm planning on buying some more.
Those eggs look store bought. NEVER FEED SHELLS FROM THE STORE to your dog's. Farm fresh is great. Just not store bought. Also use whole wheat flower or some other type. Much healthier for your animals
She didn't feed them the shells but healthier options are definitely better but more expensive and hard to find depending on where you live
You can use any flour, or none at all, based on your preferences and your dog's needs.😊
Where did you find the silicone pan?? Thank you for the video. This is a great idea.
On Amazon there are many to choose from. a.co/d/5dkF3pw I've also found them in speciality kitchen shops.
Brilliant! If I wanted to use just sweet potato, would the recipe be the same? Cooked sweet potato, flour and eggs? Many thanks!
Yes. You may need to adjust consistency and/or baking time. Just play around with it a bit. Your dog will be happy to eat any failed batches! Mine always are, lol!
NO to flour!! Find a healthier substitute , such as almond flour
This is such a great idea! Quality store bought treats are VERY expensive!
Yes, they certainly can be! This gives a nice alternative to store bought, especially for dogs with special diet needs.
Can I use raw meat purée that an add to a mold an out in the oven I don’t want them hard or crunchy but soft . Will this be okay? @@serenitydogtraining-twoharbors
@@trishameloling2367 You can adapt the recipe to whatever works best for your dog. Because they homemade, with fresher items like raw meat, you'll want to be sure to keep treats refrigerated or frozen until needed. With softer treats they won't keep as long as drier ones.
Thanks for sharing. I've made these a few times, but wonder if there is an easy way to remove them. Mine do not come out as easily as yours do!
If they don't come out easily, I will first try baking them a little longer. They usually pop out nicely when they're drier. I've also sometimes tweaked the ingredients a bit by adding more egg and/or reducing liquids.
Did you add water somewhere along the line? I can’t imagine this being so liquid-y without it.
I didn't add water to this one. However, I do sometimes add water or flour to adjust consistency if needed.
The water from the tuna in combination with the egg is what makes it so liquidy
When you say Blender, do you mean a food processor? Do you have a video for bone or ? shaped cutters? I can never bet the consistency right (always too gummy or something). Really appreciated your mentioning the Consistency for this recipe.
Here, I used a hand blender. A regular blender works too. I imagine a food processor would also get the job done as long as it can get a smooth texture. You can use any shape silicone mold. You'll just need to play around with baking time to find what works. If they are too gummy, try baking a little longer or letting them stay in oven as it cools down.
Great idea
How about with beef liver and salmon?? How much flour would I use, etc
I've done chicken livers, salmon, baby food, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, bananas, and peanut butter. The sky is the limit with this since you choose what goes in it. Just adjust consistency with flour and/or water as needed and adjust baking time if needed.
Amazing! The easiest recipe ever, I am already making my 3rd batch. Thanks :)
You are welcome

I’m going to use the raw sardines from the pet Store in this recipe.
Will coconut flour work?
I've not tried it. If you have it try, let us know how it went.
Absolutely ! I use coconut flour and/or almond flour .
I love this video... YOU are so Smart. What did you say the Name of the Silicone you're using? What is is used for? EXCELLENT IDEA... Love it.
Just search for Silicone Baking Mat
@@angelabata62 Thank you
EXCELLENT Video... Thank you so much for sharing this... I put Salmon instead of Tuna... Turned out Great.
Yum!
I don't even eat Tuna anymore.... (sad) too much Mercury... Scary.
You can use anything your dog enjoys. Liver, chicken, baby food, peanut butter, ...
@@serenitydogtraining-twoharbors I never fed Baby Food to my own children... because even back then... there was LEAD in the Baby Food... Yesterday it was on the NEWS... that the FDA is cracking down on "How much Lead" can be in Baby Food... I thought that was unreal... especially how expensive Baby Food is today. The WHITE Tuna has the most Mercury in it... I'm sure little bits of Tuna isn't bad... but people need to know about the Mercury in it. How I found that out... Years ago, I had a little Cafe and was advised NOT to have TUNA on my Menu so my customers would not get sick!!! That scared me...
Skip jack has little to no mercury - for years i been eating tuna and sushi at least twice week- i have been tested and i have barely a trace of mercury in my body
@@annylaurie422 That is Great... I don't think we have that brand here in New Mexico (US)... but I will look. Thank you for sharing that info.
Were to store those treats and for how long we can
I bake them until they are dry and crunchy. You can store them in the refrigerator for one to two weeks or in the freezer for a few months. If you make yours a little softer, you'll need to reduce the length of time you can store them. I prefer to keep mine in the freezer and just take out a handful to use for the day.
@@serenitydogtraining-twoharbors Thank you so much for the respond very helpful. Really appreciate
