i just purchased this helmet and then tried to install my cardo packtalk pro into the helmet and was unpleasantly surprised to learn that there has been a production change, i don’t know exactly when, but the helmets are no longer cardo nor speaker compatible. these helmets alpinestar sm10, came with cutouts for the speakers, originally, and now no longer offer this feature. i called alpinestar and they confirmed there was a change, and that they have been receiving a lot of requests to make the helmets able to receive speakers (cardo and many other communication systems) again. i feel frustrated. i really want to keep this helmet because its the lightest helmet i could find, with this level/degree of safety. but i require communication systems in all of the helmets i ride with (for safety reasons, because communication increases safety). to me, communication is a necessity.

Great video - Are you able to dim the screen brightness? for example, if you are driving at night and find the screen too bright, does the Apline Halo unit have the ability to dim the brightness?

Any time that your not in familiar territory always check areas out before doing whatever. Also listening to someone else isn t good either. You see things the same perhaps. This is not advise, but FYI regarding safety and maybe some prevention on equipment damage.

Finally finding this video after experiencing very bad fade on my 24 TE300 Pro since only 12 hours, on and off, even crashed several times dues to brake fading completely within 30 minutes, then coming back, then gone again in a 50 mile ride🤷🏻‍♂️ I heard of this being a good idea to zip tie the brake during transport but waiting up to 3 days to have brakes again on a top trim competition bike is ridiculous

Hi, I’m sorry but I really don’t agree with you. I bought the same pair as the one you show on your video. I rode them offroad : crossing normal puddles (no long time immersion), riding under rain, etc… and my feet were soaking wet. Water was definitely entering through forefoot. The boots are great, but poor waterproofness. I think inside sealings joints and quality control are poor compared to gore tex products. I have Sidi Adventure boots and never had any leaking issue, even under worst weather conditions.

So the audio on the little guage cluster sceen wont show up but will the turn by turn nav show up? And can you still get text messages read aloud while driving?

Great video! Thanks for getting up close to show the details. There doesn't seem to be a fuel mixture screw in my 2016 - it looks exactly like in the video but it's just a brass cap recessed into the hole. I don't see any way it could be removed. Any advice on that?
