@@alecgoudreau6397 4 gig of ram was absolutley baller even in 2005, wasn't commonplace until the late 2000s. but yeah its very unusable in this age, atleast 8 gig at the minimum.

It lasted for about 6 months and then it died again. We were glad to have the time to recover any files we needed though 🤙🏻

@@LauraKoonce but did you connect your optical drive? In your video, you guys didn't. Also pulling the hard drive from the old one and putting into another MacBook would preserve your files

I agree with you that Noah’s Ark is often toned down and presented as a children’s story when it’s an account of devastation. I think children are more capable of understanding what happened than we give them credit for. I would disagree with your summarization of God’s feelings though. Genesis 6:5 says “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” What a strong statement! Every intention and thought was evil all the time. Imagine the murders, rapes, thefts, child sacrifices, cannibalism, and so on. This was happening continually. And this was about 120 years before the Flood, so God was still patient, allowing time for repentance and change. It doesn’t seem like he was acting on an impulse of anger. God even called Noah to be a preacher of righteousness, yet people still refused to listen. As a parent, your point about babies is one that pierces my heart. It’s overwhelmingly sad to think about people being killed in a global flood, but “people” also include babies and that hurts on a deeper level because they are defenseless. But also, as a parent, I know it is my job to protect my children. Humanity was preached to for over a hundred years and everyone except Noah and his family rejected the message of an all-powerful God destroying everyone. That includes the parents of all those children. Why did the parents of those children refuse to get on board? Why did they insist on putting their children in harm’s way? God was not stopping them from joining Noah and his family. The parents and guardians stopped them from coming to the Ark.

@@LauraKoonce That is only slightly less ridiculous than another defence I recently heard - that there were no babies or infants at that time because the sinful adults had already killed them all.

I’ve heard that too, that there could have been less babies and/or children at that time because of child sacrifices to their gods. I don’t think that’s plausible, but that’s just me. And something sounding ridiculous to you doesn’t change the validity of it.

How many babies and infants do you think there would be in the world at that time, even allowing for the fact that the world’s population was much lower than today? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? You are saying their parents could have put them on the Ark if they wanted to? What about all of the infants in East Asia, or Australia, or Africa, or the Americas? How would they get to the Ark? The entire Ark story is ridiculous and childish, but that idea of yours is far more ridiculous yet!

I was agreeing with you about the idea that there were still probably a large number of children/babies still on earth at that time. However, it didn't seem like any of the parents were interested in getting onto the ark. I would be very intrigued to hear a different telling of the story where thousands or millions of people made their way to the ark to find safety and shelter and God providing a solution for the mass amount of people who desired to be saved from the coming flood. Perhaps God knew what their hearts had decided already. Yet he still, out of love and grace, allowed over 100 years for people to hear about how they could avoid the coming destruction. I see a similar story unfolding right before us. Here and now. All of humanity faces the unavoidable reality of death. God offers the opportunity to be saved from an eternity of being separated from him by believing Jesus is who he said he was and receiving forgiveness for our sin to have hope and a future in heaven with him after death. Do you see mass amounts of people running to Jesus? I see a striking similarity between what he did with the ark and what he's doing now. The question is then turned to each of us: what will we do with the time we have left? Will we mock and make excuses? Or will we trust in something or someone who offers a way of salvation from the inevitable?
