It made you a strong man

I related to this video so much, and it’s really comforting knowing that we’re not alone in our struggles. My girlfriend and I broke up almost three months ago, and we had been together for over two years. We are each other’s first love. It has been really hard, especially since I was the one who led to the downfall of the relationship. I gave up on myself, I gave up on her, and I gave up on us. I regret it horribly. I wish I fought to make things better. A few weeks after things ended, I moved abroad from the US to Spain. It has been pretty tough adjusting to a completely different way of life while actively going through your first heartbreak. I was worried because I believed that grief was linear, but I kept feeling so up and down. Seeing that in this video makes me realize that grief ebbs and flows, and that’s ok. Some days are great, and some days are pretty rough. All I can do is look for the positives and work on myself (mentally and physically). I feel like I’ve grown a lot in these past three months, but I still have some more progress to make. If you somehow made it to the end of my comment and are reading this while going through a breakup, just know this: it’s not the end of the world. Grief is a normal thing to experience, it means that your love for that person was genuine. Keep your chin up and keep moving forward.

Went through a similar experience. ~4 years, moved in together, first serious relationship of my life. When we broke up it crushed me and I had to very slowly start picking up the pieces. I wrote 1000+ words a day for 6 months straight, which was my way of dealing with it. While this was one of the hardest times in my life, I wouldn't want to miss it. It made me the person I am today, which I am very grateful for.

The person I once thought was my answered prayer and a lifetime partner is now the reason I pray to God every day and night, asking Him to remove her from my mind and provide an explanation for why such a terrible experience happen to me. She is now leaning on the shoulders of other man and happy while I was left alone in our relationship, still wondering if the love, care, and experience she gave me was real.

thank you for this video, i hope you’re in a better place in life right now. i was just broken up with a few days ago. this is the worst breakup i’ve ever gone through, the pain is unfathomable and currently feels insurmountable, but i have hope that i will heal with time. we had so much love for each other, believed we were soulmates, and planned our future together. we had so many beautiful memories together and so much love for each other and i will forever carry a piece of him in my heart. i’m in so much pain, and i do put a lot of the blame on myself because i had hurt him and broke his boundaries especially within the past two weeks due to my depression and low self esteem. i know that in the future, i'll be able to revisit our memory with a deep appreciation for the time we had together and look back with gratitude that he let me go because i needed to become a better person.

It's been five months. I stopped crying everyday. Stopped thinking about her every minute. But I still miss her so much. Her thoughts are the only thing of her that belongs to me. Life feels empty. Being happy is like a long lost memory. It feels like she took a part of me with her. I still pray for her well being twice every day. I know she is fine and is doing well yet the craving to know how she is? how was her day ? how her life is? eats me from within. Her birthday is coming and knowing that I won't be able to wish her and wont be able to make her feel special on her special day is unbearable. I hope she never has to see this video. I pray she never has to go through such pain. I am left with only two things- This constant urge of seeing her again just once and the question- was I really that bad that I have to face all this agony? I still miss you my dear fellow. I still crave looking in your beautiful eyes the love that you once had for me.

We used to stay up until 5 a.m., talking and sharing so many things. Whenever I saw her, I got butterflies. I respected her a lot, and still do to this day. But the whole "moving on" process made me a new person, one I can't even imagine. Now, people admire and adore me. Because I don't rely on others, I love myself first. You could call it a "sigma" thing, but it really works. I'm truly thankful she gave me a heartbreak, because it helped me discover myself.

I love him I miss him , but he does not love me or appreciate I am not here for compassion or being called stupid I just want a place to write cuz I can’t tell anyone. I love him even after thing he did, I gave him my heart my all and many chances which he fucked it up right away, he slut shamed me he accused me and he never trusted me. 10 days passed today and he never reached to me, yes I am the one who chose to let go and walk away but he was fighting me everyday and calling me names then wake up the next morning saying don’t disappear I am sorry. I just love him and we had really great times and he was my first love. Maybe I did mistakes on my side and he did but this relationship will never ever be repaired again it’s done so why do I keep crying and wanting to hug him? Why can’t I hate him or at least stop loving him after all he did to me?
