THANK YOU. Been fighting my resources spelling because I was typing it and and it wasn’t syncing stupid mistake on my behalf lol
Hi Shari, I'm setting up a News page with categories that I have defined as a column in Site Pages. This works great for having many News Web Parts that I can filter by Property Name since I've assigned categories to all my news items in Page Details. What I really want to do is have a drop-down with all the News Categories and have the user select which category of news they wish to view - is this possible?
Hi 58bobby! If you make the property required, they will have to pick it one of the options. The flip side of that is...they have to pick one every time. The other option is to use content types where they have to select what type of page they are creating which is not as clear in modern as it was in classic. Hope this helps!
Hey Shari, loved this. Was awesome to hear your voice again ❤️
I still can't figure out how to attach a file that lives in Sharepoint.
This is fantastic! Have you synced Project with SharePoint when there are multiple tracking tables in Project? Or synced Project reports made in Power BI to SharePoint?
I use multiple tables, then create a master project in Microsoft project. Then you can create reports in Project, but I don't believe you can use Power BI to create reports. Anyone else have ideas? Share them here!
@@ShortcutShari I'll add that I am the only one with Microsoft Project Professional at this time, the idea is to have reports the team can view at anytime. SharePoint is the easiest for now because I lose some Plan functionality with Project Online. I have created the tables in the manner you outlined, the SharePoint interface does not work well with Project Tables.
But can you copy a task in the mobile app version? I can't see this option.
I don't believe so. Remember, mobile versions are available for ease of access but rarely do they have all the bells and whistles of the web based or installed application. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for replying. I thought that might be the case. I just really wish the MS Suite was better developed generally (even away from phone apps) as I find it's pretty close to being amazing, but all they do is make more apps that almost do great things. Very frustrating as I would love to have a holistic MS system as we use SharePoint but I think we need to move over to Asana.😢
Have you figured out a way to add a co-organizer embedded in a distribution list that has been ivited?
Why wouldnt you show us the outcome????
There doesn't seem to be a header section for me to edit. Does something need to be enabled for the header to appear? I can change some basic things in Change The Look/Header, but don't have the controls you're showing.
can you change the fields within each task? doesnt seem to be an option.
Thanks for sharing this video! I uploaded a file to a task in Planner, and I had no idea where it went. This really helped. I'm not sure why Microsoft doesn't automatically place the file in a logical location or provide the ability to select where the attachment is saved. As a workaround, I'll advise my team to first save the file in a designated Teams file and then add the file's link to Task by To-Do/Planner. Thanks again for this video.
Thank you for the video, it is very helpful. You mentioned the task list must be very stable or else problems will occur. I keep getting issues where the Project filed saved to the Site Assets library keeps closing before the sync is complete. I assume that is the type of problem you are referring to. 😊
Nice! Since you can't be everywhere all the time and you can't do all the jobs yourself. So trying to work on a way to delegate, even in a small way is a great thing.
Very true!
Super informative! Thanks so for making this!
Thanks.
Thanks for the tutorial. The Microsoft Task list is very useful. I was looking for a way to do it in Microsoft Modern list, as my understanding Microsoft Modern lists will have functionality updated. Where as, from reading Microsoft articles, one of the differences with Classic , they won't be.
Hi Michael! Yes, you would have to change to the classic view. I'm still hoping Microsoft values this functionality as much as it's consumers do and builds it in to modern!
That was really helpful, Shari. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
I hope it makes your job easier! Have a great day!
Hello, how do we do this in the online version from Outlook 365 to One Note 365 online version? How do I do multiple emails at one time before my company deletes all my emails? Thanks
You need to use the Desktop version for the best results. My Waffle Wednesday Webinar next month will be all about OneNote and migrating content. Would love to have you there! bit.ly/WW202204.
There *IS* a desktop version of ToDo.... 🤔
Updates are A JOKE!!!! 90% of the ARE NOT FOR security and do nothing but break your computer then ya gotta spend the next 2 weeks to a month trying to fix the screwup!!! I cant stand Microsoft anymore!!!
I've had this experience at times, but for the most part the updates that are applied, for me, are the security updates. ALWAYS create a back up of your computer FIRST, then apply updates if anything is in question. Thank you for your very honest opinion and highlighting that *sometimes*, depending on our own configuration and hardware of our machines, *sometimes* updates are not friends!
As far as I can see this is only for Android. Is there another app for iOS ?
I don't have any IOS devices, but check for the the My Phone Companion APP is in the Apple Store.
Thank you for the tip. Would you happen to know how to setup a quiz that doesn't erase questions answered when the connection is lost or they close the form and reopen it?? Just started using forms for student quizzes and tests but they have to start all over if they lose wifi connection. I would also like to setup homework assignments that they can do over a week and not have to complete at one sitting. If you can help with this I would greatly appreciate it and thanks again form the tip on sections.
Good morning! My apologies for the delay in responding to this. I need to check comments more often! Unfortunately, Forms is a great option for surveys and "quizzes" but it's not a fully baked solution. There is no means of accessing the content is the real-time session. You can take it to the next level by attaching it to a SharePoint site, but it is a one-time post.
Awesome tip Shari! I see you have a session at TeamsDayOnline!
Thanks, Dan!
Exactly what I was looking for! Great tutorial, thumbs up!
