first oil change 2.3 ecoboost in my kingfisher extreme shallow

Should mention. You need an oil extractor. I went and grabbed one from harbor freight right after filming this. The flow rate out of the black hose would have taken days.....

Hows it handle rougher water? I know its not ment for white water but can it handle some? Live around hells canyon and usually run the shallower stuff like the clearwater and some lower snake but like the option to run some bigger stuff if im chasing salmon/steelhead. Was looking one over at canyon marine and really like the set up.
Jason, we just bought a 23 =2175 extreme shallow from Canyon Marine, Just curious, what are you getting gas milage wise, or what kind of range on a tank of gas. Also, did you install the Garmin yourself?
Not sure on mileage. I've ran from walters ferry to swan falls to marsing and back to walters ferry before and still had plenty of fuel left. I had asked canyon marine to install my fish finder and trolling motor for me.
Thanks for the quick response! Looking forward to getting our out this weekend.@@jaywebguy
One more question, do you use your full cockpit cover much?
@@jesseferrer2572 Nope. I don't think I've put the sides on it yet. They're still rolled up in the bags that Gus gave me. I do use the top though, but only on super hot sunny days. Still the sides and rear are nice to have if you use the boat during the colder months. With the sides and rear on, you could heat the cab area easily with a buddy heater. If you didn't get one, I would recommend asking Gus to make you a pad for your front window. The pad will help protect the glass from rocks.
Thanks Jason. Got the GPS installed and got on the schedule with Gus for a top. Do you put anything on the plug threads before you install them ? Jake our sales guy said we should be ok just installing them with nothing. This is for the hull plugs. Jesse. @@jaywebguy
Can u order one to have a Honda K motor or J motor?
I notice that the throttle is on the dash. It seems so un natural and inconvenient to reach forward like that. I would think they would figure out a way to get that throttle on your SIDE. My boat is the same way, these controllers are not made to side mount. Do you find that to be the case?? I am thinking about Wooldridge vs Kingfisher vs SJX. The Wooldridge is a lot more utilitarian, without the cabinets, doors, etc. I don't know if I like that, this kingfisher seems more refined on the inside.
What kinda oil are you running? I have same motor in the fast water x9
Ford doesn't make a 4.3
2.3
How fast is it? how thirsty is it?
It cruises at about 40 upriver. I've had it up to about 50mph. Don't know the specifics on fuel consumption but it does better than my old thunderjet with the 4.3 v6.
How do you like it compared to your thundejet? Stuck between the two. Find the 2.3 underpowered?
Great boat! What degree is the hull at the transom? Thanks.
Here's a link to the specs on the boat kingfisherboats.com/boats/2175-extreme-shallow-indmar/
The unreliability of the ecoboost scares me.
Sitting at 30 hours of runtime on mine. So far no issues. If I start having problems, I'll let you all know. I know there are guys out there with over 100 hours and no issues (cross my fingers).
@jaywebguy how's it been dude? I'll looking at a fastwater X9 with 2.3 turbo
It doesn't have a heater option. Lol Nice boat. At WOT, how many gallons per hour burned? Wish jet pump had trimming for fine tuning (porpoising) without needing to install aftermarket trim tabs which would be damaged on skinny water.
There's a spot on the cooling exchange system to plumb in a heater, but wasn't an option. Truthfully, I never used my heater on my old boat much.
Hi Jason, how does this boat handle chop or rough water. I would be using it on the Snake and CJ Strike but would like the versatility for larger lakes. Thank you ! Rich
Choppy rough water, the boat does great, especially with the suspension seats. I haven't had it on a lake with big waves, yet so it's hard to tell. I would imagine it could get a bit interesting though given how flat the bottom is. I run mainly from Marsing to Swan Falls and the boat performs great through all sections.
What type of fishing do you do? Looks like the layout would suck for smallmouth or bass type fishing. I'm curious because I looked at walk-thru type boats before buying my boat, but just couldn't make sense of fishing out them.
Funny enough I mainly fish for smallies on the snake river. I love it. You can fish 2 or 3 guys up front and few out the back easily. The front deck is huge. Best part is wit the shallow design I can get it into some crazy places.
@@jaywebguy Thanks for taking the time to reply. It's sweet boat. Catch 'em up!
Great video! Can you do a video on winterize the motor?
Really nothing to winterize on the motor. I'll run it all year. It self-drains. There is a drain tube on the motor if you're going to let it sit for a long period of time over winter. I'll the boat in my insulated shop all winter especially after being out on the river in Dec. and January. I might do a video on winterizing the washdown and the live well later though.
When you are running it in frigid weather, watch out for the dreaded steering lockup. If the steering cable is exposed to the water which it probably is then it freezes and you have to pour hot water on it before turning and then immediately get it into the water. Or let idle in the water for a long time to defrost. Jet boats are so much more awareness and maintenance to prevent catastrophic problems. I'm basing my experience on 2019 river runner 250 rotax
@@gmoua1234 That would suck, haven't experienced that yet on either of my boats luckily. Shoot, I haven't been out since the end of October, hoping to get to go soon though.
That’s a sweet boat! I fish from celebration park all the time. I’ve never seen that info on where to take the boat on my graph. Is that a garmin thing or an aftermarket sd card?
What’s the base price on the basic model on the xtreme shallow 2175? I’ve always been interested in owning one.
Not sure. I know it's gone up since I ordered mine.
@@jaywebguy It does seem like everything is inflating. Do you have more videos of your jetboat. Tiktok perhaps?
@@LeafsFanXD Anything, in particular, you'd like to see? I thought about doing an update on the boat now that I've got a ton of time on it. This fall, I'm going to be installing a stereo system and I want to reinforce the front where the plate for the trolling motor goes. Underload the trolling motor plate flexes more then I would like it to.
Yea got the 2stroke like her, about 500 hours now, loves it but the oil man haha she drinks it
Curious about your trailer? That's probably the only think that I don't care for. Seems like I've made tons of adjustments and still can't get it to load easily. I have to crank it up into the saddle. My old boat it was spot on.
@@jaywebguy yea I havent had to much trouble with loading issues but roads here in Labrador are like a goat path where we fish and hunt so trailer gets a trimming hahah our boat launches are not the best,so I tend to have the bunks just under the water and then I force boat right up,I might have to ratchet her up about a foot then, side winds are a nuisance at most of our boat launches so easier to just force her on
Sweet!!!
Let's see some videos of you on the river! How is the noise and fuel economy?
Next time out I will try and remember to grab some video
Not sure how to report on noise. Much quieter then my old 4.3 thunderjet. It seems to be better on fuel as well, though that might be offset a bit in savings cause I'm running premium in it.
ruclips.net/video/wy9pQRylCfI/видео.html
How much for the boat and where did you buy it? Thanks
Canyon Marine in Nampa Idaho. Price is subjective to how you order it and I know it's gone up in price like everything else so I don't think it would be fair to say what I paid.
I forgot to add the plate for the kicker motor is included also... It's currently sitting on a shelf.
I'm in Pokey, are you on the east or west end of the state?
Between Caldwell and Marsing.
@@jaywebguy that is slimy over there. How is the get up and go with that? FYI, canyon charged me $1500 for a full service on my boat a few years ago, they didn’t do a single thing. When I got it home I pulled the impeller and it was still hardened, oil has not been changed, hub’s has not been repacked etc. I hope your luck has been better.
@@dhbikerczar Wish I could post a picture here. I took one when I got home last night before cleaning the hull, it was nasty. Being out for 4 hours on the river and it had a nice build up of sludge from sitting in the water, while we fished. Canyon Marine has a new owner. I would have raised hell if they did that, but with my old boat, they seemed to always have done what they said they would. Loaded down with 5 of us and a full 40 gallons of fuel, the boat has no problem popping up on plain and cruising around 38 mph up river at about 3750 rpms. Last night we were doing about 46 on the way back down river. We stayed out after dark so I could test my new light bars and their quick disconnect setup. Message me if you want to go out in it. I'm out a few times a week.
Cool video. I’m curious where your spray is along the hull when on plane. Basically at what point on the hull is out of the water on plane? I look to configure a kingfisher the same way you have in the future.
On plane, probably just the bottom of the painted hull. Course how much weight you have in it will make a difference. It runs shallow.
Vroom Vroom!!
it beats sitting on my Atv and letting the snow blow in your face and getting a wet butt.
I love how the top tube was perfect for blocking out the sun..!!
How much did the cab cost and do u have a turbo kn jt ,
What kind of. Cab do u have
It's the polaris soft cab for the rzr s. Worked pretty good
any problems with wind or anyhting
no, it worked really well. Wish I could get one for my new rzr, but it has a custom cage
look how tiny that plow is my ranger can plow my drive way in to passes and i have a huge driveway.
Spanks, Jason!!
Very nice, you blasted right up....
weak as shit
Dont raise the plow and keep going, just go till you hit the edge of the driveway. Then back up and raise the plow, when you do what you are doing here you are dragging half of what you just stacked back onto the concrete...
@jaywebguy Go to Pure Polaris website. I can't leave a site or link in here or otherwise RUclips would automatically rejected my comment due to some kind of spamming. But Pure Polaris (Polaris customization company) website has many of different plows and other accessories. Hope that helps.
bierz łopate i zapierdalaj sam grubasie!!/ great video i want that machine :)
once it gets too much he lifts the plow ......do some real plowing
someone find me a plow for a rzr 4?
got tot watch the weight of the snow with the polaris plow mounts. If you get too much the mount folds. I want to try a tapered plow to this winter. I think a tapered plow would throw the snow off of the driveway.
you need some wings on your RZR it would keep that snow from spilling out the side
you don't need a heater. The black canvas cab does a pretty good job of keeping it warm.
is there a heater in that beast?
Good job Jason.......
